Called Crescendo today and was told that the remote that comes with the amps don't totally defeat them and if I want to do so I'd be better off going with the PAC LC1 line level controller. I like the way I was able to totally defeat the sub if i wanted to and just listen to my Hi's. Not a total big deal but I think i would prefer total defeat vs just turning down the gain all the way which you would still hear the sub some. Now that might suffice for me but I won't know till I hook it up. Just wanting to get an idea of if you guys turn your remote all the way down does it sound pretty much like the sub is barely on or what?

Depends on the sub/amp combo you get. If you do it right (the amp is correct for the sub power wise) then when the remote bass knob is all the way down the gain should be very low and you can barley hear your subs.

Most aftermarket HU's have the option to turn the sub off totally.

yes i know my headunit has that option I'm sure but i would hate to have to go into the menu to do it lol but it might not be that bad. I guess I'm thinking and used to turning knobs like back in the day lol. Check out my other thread on using the mach box or not for my 6x8s and let me know whatcha think.

    thanks
