So many out there….and some great comparison reviews. I have several, and wanted to share: Viking-Harbor Freight, garbage. Vetomeile, decent…except the pin that the charger fits into is tiny and very fragile, I snapped mine off yesterday, it’s a bummer because it was my best jump pack. Tacklife…only jumps for a second or two then shuts down. I hooked mine up to a lithium battery powered supercar…drained the packed in less than five seconds, and it didn’t jump anything…worthless. NOCO GB40, was my go to…but…now it won’t hold a charge. Turns out…you have to give ‘em a little charge up every 3-4 months or it will go flat for good. My fault.

if possible to find jump packs that use a USB or USB-C to charge, you will be much happier than the old pin/socket types….that you always misplace the charger for.

One of my Vetomiele’s still works well..so I will be gentle with it. Maybe a Hulkman, or larger NOCO for the next purchase, thoughts?

I bought a Gooloo that was recommended by Project Farm, on Youtube. I can’t remember the model, but if you can find that video, it’s worth a watch. He compares many different brands and models.

Used mine twice. Once on my dead Optima. Had to wait a bit for initial charging, down to 80%, then it cranked right over in -10. Interesting that it charges up 2X faster than my Noco

Not picking a fight but just interested in buying a capacitor starter myself. Have you had to use it yet?

yes I’ve used it quite a few times.
Takes a second to build but definitely works.
If the battery is below say 6 volts the pack doesn’t work so well but it can be built up by a better battery and used to jump.
It’s nice being able to just carry it and not worrying about is it charged.
My wife has a jump pack in her car also but every time I check it it’s dead.

NOCO and other 1000 Amp chargers usually don’t hold a charge after about a year. Mine and many others say theirs didn’t. There’s a reason for the 12 month warranty. It has to do with lithium gel manufacturing process. Experts in that field point out that they’re good for repeat power up cycles, but not for their longevity, especially if used more than sparingly. If I buy another charger, it will definitely be a “Hulkman 85” 2000 amp charger and not a NOCO or other brand 1000 amp one. A 2000 amp will degrade slower than a 1000 amp and costs the same as NOCO’s 1000 amp charger. Google “Hulkman 85” and read the specs, comparisons and expert reviews. NOCO’s are sooo overrated and NO reviewers reviewed them 15 months later!!!

Read up about chargers and the manufacturing process of lithium battery (gel) cells and you’ll better understand that ours weren’t manufacturing defects.
