Hard core Toyota family here with the son arriving into the driving age. I'm a Tundra owner myself, but the Son really wanted a Tacoma. With the shortage of trucks, we had one on order for months out delivery, but saw one become available and immediately jumped don it. He worked hard for years saving up money and was able to contribute significantly to it. Since we like wheeling, I told him, I'd give him a jump on building it out for off road use. Here's the latest on it:
    • Tacoma TRD Sport (I know it's a sport, but it's all that was available)
    • Front under bumper plastic spoiler was immediately removed
    • Wanted a small lift so we installed the Toyota TRD 2/1 Lift with the Toyota grille and radar relocation.
    • TRD Pro Engine Skid Plate
    • N-Fab RS steps for Mom. (BTW, Mom loves to drive the Taco and drives it more than her Highlander).
    • De-chromed the badges
    • Offered to purchase the 4Runner TRD Pro black wheels, but my Son really liked the new 17" Sport wheels that came on it. Good, saved some $.
    • Mounted the new Cooper Rugged Trek tires and went one size up with 265/70R17.
All work that we did outsell was exclusively wrenched by my son under my supervision. He was quite proud of his accomplishments.

Part of the deal we made when we bought the truck included leather seats. Just pick it back up afar the dealer installed Katzkin black leather with red stitching.
