So I know this is not the first time these have come up on here but I thought I'd bring it back around. I just saw this one for a completely insane $130,000:

    Here: http://www.filson.com/products/filson-edition-aev-brute.92098.html

But the non-gold plated versions are pretty normally priced around $30k-$40k. EDIT: In fine print at the bottom "*Price does not include the cost of the base vehicle." Haha oh man the truck I could make out of a base Taco and $40,000!

I really do think these Jeeps are cool. But I am also pretty sure that I like them cause they are basically Jeep Tacos with very well done custom work. Anyone know of any in depth reviews or comparisons? I'd love to see one that is LTed.

Seems like it might be a little gutless. More HP but the same Torque and its 1200 lbs heavier. Unless by curb weight they really mean Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. And it does have a fair amount of aftermarket on it and I'm just comparing a stock DCSB Taco spec sheet.

Anyway, really just curious if anyone has any experience or contact with a Brute.

Long travel? How do you LT a solid axle?? Didn't know this was possible. Hell learn me something. But Maybe I'm miss understanding the statement. Nevertheless these things sure do look awesome!!

There isn't a Jeep equivalent to LT? Something to give it...um...longer travel...? I don't know. Just looking for something exotic out of the Jeep world. Like a BAJA Jeep! :mudding:

Yeah I think they are a cool concept. Not $70-$80k cool. But cool.

I've seen one of these by my house!! I was very excited to see one because I didn't know that people actually bought these...

I'd like to see how it would look with a shorter bed..

something just feels off about the proportions.

I think what's so cool about it is that it's different and it's high quality work.

    The design isn't amazing though.

i love the brutes. the package to convert from a 2Dr wrangler was only like 15k a few years ago. but you had to cut the frame and body and expand. i think they look awesome.

they have a "Long Arm" suspension for jeeps and SAS. but never heard of a LT for SAS

Rear of the Taco is a solid axle and guys on here have no problems LT'ing the rear. Long travel is just increasing the suspension travel.

I knew there was a way to increase the travel just wasn't sure if it was actually called long travel for front SA trucks. Thought maybe the term long travel had just been "adopted" to go with the rear. Hey learned something today.

I like 'em, but defiantly not worth the money.

I'm kind of biased with it comes to Jeep Pickups.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Saw one at the Puyallup 4x4 Swap meet last year. They are...cool and capable. But I would rather build my Taco into a more-capable & more versatile rig with that type of money.

    Just for comparison's sake....

    AEV Brute D/C
    Power: 285hp / 260lb-ft. tq
    Overall Length: 216.0 inches
    Wheelbase: 139.0 inches
    Bed Length x Width: 61 x 60 inches
    Curb Weight: 5,400 lbs (DC350)
    Fuel Capacity: 22.5 gal
    Max Tow Capacity: 3,500 lbs

    Tacoma DC/LB
    Power: 236hp / 266lb-ft. tq
    Overall Length: 221.3 inches
    Wheelbase: 140.6 inches
    Bed Length x Width: 73.5 x 56.7 inches
    Curb Weight: 4,285 lbs.
    Fuel Capacity: 21.1 gal
    Max Tow Capacity: 6,300 lbs

+1 on that seeing those specs.

It reminds me of the H3T and I wasn't a big fan of those either. Looks more fitting to the Overland realm though.
