Has anybody jacked up a truck on a sloped driveway? Is it safe?
My garage and driveway are somewhat slopped and kind of afraid to jack up the truck to work on shocks front and rear.

NO! MUCH BETTER to find a dead level spot to do it, especially if you are going to be under it working. Safety First ALWAYS! It's REALLY hard to breathe with a Tacoma sitting on your chest!

I had to do it once. Couple of inches is all that saved me from dying.

    Don't do it, ever.

Even on a level surface, better to avoid having both ends in the air at the same time. Also, get 4 of these. Cheap insurance.

Thanks guys, I will NOT do it. I was afraid of this.
I want to LIVE (I know, stupid idea).
I could do it in the cul-de-sac in front of the house if HOA is not bitching.

I only go full hovertaco when doing my 5 wheel rotation. Even then, I get super anal about setting and double checking the jackstands, and using a very smooth Jack and never going under the truck.

Sitting on an office chair with wheels near the garage door, I can roll downhill (slope) on the driveway pretty good by gravity only...:(
I have replaced brake pads in the driveway before but ONLY one at the time and 3 wheels were chocked and locked.

Only way I would suggest doing it. Chock all tires and jackstands and a oak block of wood under body of truck or axle where you are working. Where there is absolutely no way it could fall. Set emergency brake too. Only remove one wheel at a time. Leave nothing to chance. Jack truck up then lower it down on oak block for support.

Of course if it is too steep, I wouldn't even do that.

Can you shim the jackstands level on flat pads in the garage?

Not even this way! Why the heck would you even try this. One mistake and your injured or dead. Find a level area where you can work or pay to have it done.

Of course if you put the truck in my name in your will...well by all means absolutely try jacking it up. :boink:

In touch with a friend of the neighbor that has a auto shop and could rent space in the weekend. Best way like this. I am not going to risk it.
