It's been fun, but I just bought a 2022 4Runner!

    Hi Everyone,

I've learned a lot and enjoyed the posting on this forum, but I've purchased a 2022 4Runner.
I really loved my 2016 Tacoma, but I felt the time was right because I was looking for a few other things from a vehicle these days. Test drove it last week and really like the added comfort and quietness of the 4Runner.
    As well:
1.) I have an 80 pound German Shepherd now and having an Access Cab is not the ideal situation to be honest. The 4Runner cures this with gobs of room in the back.
2.) I have the tri-fold hard OEM box cover and bed matt but I was growing tired of having to use the box for my stuff I needed to carry because I have the dog in my Cab area.
3.) The 4Runner can tow all my toys as good as my Tacoma can, so this was important to me. I've got an enclosed 6x10 trailer, 17' Bowrider boat, and two SeaDoos on a double trailer. Also, I can get lumber for my cottage building projects just as easily in the 4Runner as the Tacoma.
4.) They gave me 4K less then what I paid for the Tacoma 6 years ago so this frankly swayed my decision the rest of the way.
Pics of my 4Runner with the TRD Off-Road package, same color as my Tacoma.

    this and that...
coo. its a good vehicle, and im sure youll love yours. i had 2 5th gen t4rs and both times i couldnt get over the antiquated 1gr coupled with the 5spd auto trans. i like for 21+ it seems like they finally caught up techwise with the led lamps and fogs, bigger head unit, up/down buttons on the rear gate for ease of access (not only on limited), blind spot monitoring.

We use to have a 2018 4Runner Limited, very nice SUV, but was too small for our family and needs. I miss it at times and would not hesitate going back once our family gets smaller. Congrats on your purchase.

ENJOY and be safe...I hear the 4R is a great vehicle. I'm actually looking at getting one for my wife as she is looking to down size her vehicle (with kids all in college we are now empty nesters). I'm trying to decide on what to get - as she wants a winch/front bumper and a lift. As you can see from my profile pic - we are GSD people too (the one pictured is our 3rd). Good luck!

I got rid of my 2011 Tacoma for my 4runner SR5 as we needed the 3 row. Great truck. Can still be used for some truck like duties and carry 7 passengers when needed while still being very capable off road!

In California we get the bonus of not having to pay the Commercial Vehicle registration for pick up trucks too.

    Congrats!

Congrats, looking to add a 4runner to the stable when inventory and prices become more reasonable. Right now new are all asking a 5-15k market adjustment over MSRP and used are going for what used to be new prices.

Congrats. We have both an 18 Taco Limited and a 20 4Runner Limited. I love them both equally just like the kids lol. The 4 runner is quieter, smoother and more roomy, but the Taco is more fun to drive.

One thing I noticed is that my tacoma gets much better mileage. About 3mpg more average. The taco is getting 19-20 overall average and the 4runner is getting 16-17, this is over several tanks of gas.
