Ordered the headlights little less than a year ago and hopped in the truck to leave work when I realized my driver side blinker was out as well as the driver side DTRL. I pulled the light and found it almost completely melted, see pics below, so I called the company asked if it was still under warranty, it was, so they sent another pair out and I replaced them (no hassle process for warranty). Also, as I replaced them I inspected the passenger side and it had also been melting, just did not go out yet I guess. One thing the customer service asked me was if I had swapped any of the bulbs out with LEDs, I did not, so I maintained my warranty. I did not mention however, that I did put after market LED fog lights in (Morimot XB LED).

So I guess the questions are:

Does anyone else have the same issue with the ANZO U Bar Headlights? (If you own them I suggest you check your connections just in case)

Do my LED fog lights have any impact on my driving lights at all due to them being LEDs?

Idk but this sounds like an issue similar to the 05-12(?) models that I briefly read about on here. Regarding the housings melting. Maybe the issue wasn't fixed. Might be an issue with wiring. But I kinda doubt your fogs are affecting it. I really don't know. I'd look into issues others may have had similar to yours with factory headlights. Or maybe call the dealer and see if they've had similar complaints/issues with the dtrl circuit... Kinda strange.

It's gotta be the wiring on the aftermarket headlights. LEDs have much less draw than standard halogens, so I would think they are that much less likely to cause this kind of melting.

I don't think it could be the wiring since the wiring and sockets get plugged into the (aftermarket) housing.

OP, your aftermarket fog lights should have nothing to do with your melted DTRL's. Do you have a 2012 where the DTRL's are on all the time?

I'm not sure with these headlights, but I had similar aftermarket ones on my Silverado that came with their own wiring. Seems weird that an aftermarket headlight company would replace them if the melt was caused by OEM wiring.

Ohh I see. I'm not sure if these came with their own wiring too. Looking at the OP's pics, it looks like the OEM bulb and socket but I could be wrong. In fact, does that "U" light up when the Parking Lights are on? If that's the case then I assume the whole wiring could be different too.

Yeah I bet the U part wires into the parking light/DRL. The ones I had for my Silverado had halo rings that came on with the parking lights. Since later model Tacomas use the DRL as a turn signal as well, maybe that's what caused the overload.

Thank you all for the input, the aftermarket lights come with everything ready to plug and play out of the box. The bulb and the socket do come with the headlight, and thankfully were the only things damaged. My OEM wiring harness is still intact. The "U" light only comes on with the parking light selection (and projectors too) they do not turn on with only the DTRL's. Also, I own a 2014, so the fogs do not stay on all the time, but I do sometimes leave the fogs selector switch engaged when I get out of the truck. But, with the auto cut off to stop the driver from killing the battery, all lights turn off once the key is removed ( I am sure you are all aware of). I wasn't sure what it was, just the malfunctioning of the lights or something I was doing wrong with the LEDs.

Thanks for getting back to us about the details! I'm glad they could replace under warranty, but seeing it only lasted less than a year, are you gonna hold onto these still? Or is it temporary until you get a proper retrofit?

I was thinking the same exact thing, but of course the company will not refund the lights. Plus my girlfriend got these for me during Christmas, so if I get rid of them she'd get a little upset. BUT, if these new ones are an issue, than the only answer is the retrofit answer, haha.

I had the exact same thing happen to my Anzos DRLs for the 15 Tacoma. I did put HID's into the Anzo housings for my low/high beams. Anyone know if this could be a direct result or if the problem is deeper than that?

bump. anyone else have issues with anzo. I just bought a used set and they are all melted as well. 200 down the drain. I know I should of just went with the oem trd pro lights like I wanted to in the first place. hopfully I can sell em and recoup some of my money.

You're likely gonna have to take that loss. No one is gonna wanna buy them if they're melted, well depending how bad I suppose. Some parts may be recouped, maybe the lenses if anything. Anyways, they're just a cheap version of the BHLM and you're better off saving up for the TRD Pro headlights if you wanna go for the strict OEM route.

I've just had bad experiences with aftermarket headlights. Had some on my Dakota and the mounting brackets made them shake like none other when I would hit bumps in the road. Took chance on these and got "burned" again. Honestly at this point the oem rout is almost the only one I would trust.

First off let me clarify that the "burn" you got on these headlights didnt happen. You didnt like the water spots on these and I sent you back a $100. I couldve told you to send me back my $120 LED bulbs that I included in that sale but I let you keep them. Second, those headlights were not melted at all and were in decent condition considering you got them for realistically $80 since you have my bulbs too. Third, the only piece that was melted was the socket for the headlight bulbs that I fixed loooooooooooong before these were ever on sale. That is all documented in my build thread too btw. They left my hands in working order and was a pretty damn good deal on your end. I worked with you in every which way to make it work out for you, not me, YOU. I couldve said fuck it and not responded at all but this is a forum where people help each other out. Really dont appreciate you coming on here and saying you got fucked when you really didnt. You can go take that shit else where because thats how you dont make friends on Tacoma World.

Thanks for pointing this out buddy! Really dont like people saying things that arent true about me. I worked with him as best I could but I wasnt giving him those headlights for free. Considering they are $500 new and he got them for $80. If he really is upset he can put his old headlights in sell the LED bulbs and then sell the headlights. Either way he is making money but Ill be damned if my name gets tarnished because someone likes to act all cool on the forums.
