Looks like water leaking on passenger side under new truck. Is this normal? No AC running, just normal driving.

Sorry I know it sounds like a dumb question but I just just had a leaky gasket issue with my Subaru which this new truck replaced so I’m overly paranoid.

Sure defrost isn't on or something? Is it redish like coolant? Poke your head under with a light and find out what it's coming off the bottom of and follow it.

    Touch it, is it greasy.

*edit* maybe a coolant leak? Go under her skirt and find it!

You definitely should trace it. I'd assume with most automatic climate controls the AC is running in a slight capacity a lot of the time :notsure:

On most vehicles the A/C runs anytime the system is on a defrost mode.
This helps pull the water and humidity out from inside the cabin.

Maybe that’s what is causing it?

My 1st gen does this as well.. not sure why though. Everything works perfectly as well, it doesn't seem to be an issue that affects anything. It's also exactly like water with mine too, not greasy, not coolant.

You might crawl under and see if it is coming from the A/C drain hose.
I couldn’t find a good picture of it on a 3rd Gen. But I did find a good link that should help. In the link below the OP ran a longer line. The factory hose is short. Some guys don’t like it dripping on the frame.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/first-mod-ac-hose.630491/

Even some of us 2nd Gen guys have done it too. I didn’t myself. I see the frame rust near the cats way before it rust where the A/C drips on the frame.
Why? I don’t know. But that seems to be the “spot” on the 2nd Gen trucks that rust first.

That is definitely from the AC draining and completely normal. Nothing to worry about. Will happen any time you run the AC

What year's your taco? At 1K miles, my Taco started leaking diff oil. Thought it was AC drain, but it was definitely oil since it didn't dry up. Brought it into the dealership, they replaced the seal & breather under warranty. Get under your truck, check differential, look for any oil on the components...Touch it, finger it, & smell it. Oil? Go from there.

If the leak dries up on the ground, it's definitely just AC drainage, truck's just taking a piss.

IF that was from the AC it sure is a lot. Get under and give it a look

The only sure way to know is to taste it. Coolant will be slightly sweet with a hint of northern California grown red wine.

I live in FL and my system is set to auto at all times. It looks pretty much like my A/C water drain every time I park. As others have said don't forget that if you are set to auto your A/C will still run at times. Should be easy enough to tell if it's straight water or something else. Water = ok, something else = not ok, let dealer fix under warranty.
