I have a 2020 Tacoma 4wd trd off-road and I am asking because I have been looking at kits and considering a 3.50-4 inch lift and wondering peoples thought on RC and the kits below.

--Some suggestions or other recommendations will be taken and I am not looking to spend over 1100. Thank you

the rough country n3 and m1 struts are trash. they basically added the length of a spacer lift to the shock body itself so you have all the same downsides as overextended suspension components and bottoming out the shock itself without hitting bump stop causing harsh bottoming and possible damage to components. its basically an overpriced spacer lift.

Ok thank you for your response do you recommend any other kits around the price point a little above or below?

Rough country is an entry budget lift not known for high quality. Spend the money once and have piece of mind.

Keep in mind that the optimal height for your parts and longevity is to not go beyond 2.5” of suspension lift for ride quality and the health of your CV joints.

given you have a 3rd gen, I would consider an Eibach, Bilstein, or higher quality lift with better shocks

You have a nice truck that cost you plenty. Don’t skimp on cheap stuff or you will eventually spend more than you wanted when you could have avoided it from the beginning, especially if you actually off-road.

I run 1.5-1.6” of real lift with 32” tires. I run the desert pretty hard and fast doing 30-60mph over rocks as big as a fist. I use to have OME and hated it because it was so stiff and jarring because of the intense preload those shocks are typically made for heavy overlanders (Australia). I switched to a good lift and now it rides like butter. Good luck!

I can say my 2.5 in 6212 front bilstein and 5100 in the back work very nice for me and RC is JUNK

Yes I have been hearing a lot about bilstein. Seems like the way I am going at this point.

    Here's the deal.

You keep insisting on a certain amount of lift at a certain price, yet of course want good results.

    It's not going to happen.

Rough Country was invented by NASA.

For ultimate performance, better than AccuTune, Fox, King, Elka, ADS, Bilstein, Icon, OME, etc.

    I recommend you do:
    -rough country
    -extreme lift heights
    -diff drop spacer
    -subframe drop
    -lift spindles
-small really spaced out wheels with stretched thin tires
    -spacer blocks (large ones)
    -keep leafpack stock
    -squat

If you really wanna be smart financially you can make your own spacer from blocks of wood
ubolts Home Depot probably has them

    https://yotamafia.com/product/1st-gen-tacoma-2-5-lift-kit/

5100s are hard to beat for bang for buck. i ran them on 2 different trucks for many years and was happy with them. but since you want over 2" lift you need one of these kits with an aftermarket coil. going with md option coil youl get 2.5" lift. you can then get the small trim spacer to achieve a full 3" lift. i personally recommend just staying 2.5" tho.

the eibach kit is also great but only comes with a 1" rear block.

the aussie kits like ome and dobinsons ive found to be valved more towards guys running alot of added weight and can be jarring on a lightweight build.

over 2" lift an aftermarket high castor lca is recommended. not required tho as far as tire wear is concerned. you just arent able to get the desired castor for a lifted truck so it will want to wander a little more on the highway and steering wheel "return to center" is lessened. this is something you can choose to upgrade later down the road

Thank you to everyone suggesting but I guess what I mean by that is the parts and how they fit together like everything I will need to put it all together for a 3 inch lift

forget the “3” number. Lift is measured from center hub to fender is the true lift height. You will be much happier with the ride quality and longevity of your components with a 2” lift…been there done that with more than one Tacoma. Function over form

32 (eg. 265/75R16) will fit with no issues with rubbing even without a lift, no modifications needed. Whether a 33 fits depends on the tire width (for example a 255 pizza cutter vs a 285 width) and how much you articulate the suspension and turn the front wheel. At normal ride height lifted a 33 may fit but rub when turning the front wheels or when pushing up into the wheel well going over bumps offroad. So a few items to consider.

OK so in your opinion will 285 fit? I want something that does not look like paper and will show still
