This topic didn't get any response on Wheels and Tires, so I'll try here:

I have read that 275/70/17 tires will fit on wheels from 7" to 8.5" in width. Are there performance advantages or disadvantages to either wheel width with those tires, for my '19 TRD DCSB OR? Driving stability? Bead stability? Other considerations?

I don't want to simply choose a wheel based on looks if there is a performance difference. (I am interested in 4Runner Pro wheels (7" wide) and also Method 312 (8.5" wide)).

    Thanks.

Offset is more important, if to much (-) negative offset they will rub.

Pretty sure those will rub some on a stock suspension and TRD wheels.

I appreciate the responses. My question is simply regarding tire to wheel fit, not fit to the truck: Is a 275/70/17 better suited to a 7" wide wheel or an 8.5" wheel? If so, why? It will fit on both.

Assume fit to the truck, backspace, lift (it will be 2-2.5"), etc, has already been considered (although I will recheck that too!)

When you put a tire on a narrower wheel, it'll be harder to break a bead on it while aired down off road, and the lip of the wheel will be a bit more protected. On a wider wheel, it's the opposite.

It's only going to change sidewall bulge. That tire width is 10.83" The 8" to 8.5" is going to give you better fit, with a 10.83" tread width.

    Which tire, specifically?
The specs should include a measured rim width.

BFG All Terrain K02. Per your advice, I see the Measured Rim Width is 8". How do I use this number to help select a rim size from the Rim Width Range? I guess it's telling me to choose an 8" rim, ideally. If that's not an option (or an option I want anyway), then is it better to be greater or less than the Measured Rim Width?

Per EatSleepTacos, I understand a narrower rim is better at preventing breaking the bead when aired down.
