I have been planning to get a set for my truck but the shop I recently went to said they are likely being discontinued. I looked online but couldn't find anything of substance so I emailed Falken and I am waiting to hear back. I hope they aren't actually being discontinued as they have different performance ratings vs the AT4W and the AT3W would better meet my needs.

I do believe that Falken stated that they AT4W was replacing the AT3W.

Never buy a tire going out of production, it gets hard to buy a replacement. Tire rating are all super subjective and the AT3W was definitely hyped a lot more than the 4 is. I see no reason that they should perform any different.

I have a one off set from cooper and I 100% cant buy a replacement for it if I get a bad puncture now.

the at4 and at3 is almost the same the at4 is harder to last longer on the street, I’m not a fan of that but it is what it is it. Might consider the wildpeak mt or another brand next time I need a set, been running the at3s for the last few years on all my rigs

I would certainly not UNDER think tires.
If you've ever had a bad set of tires, You'll think about the next set you put on.

    Huh?

I'm not sure why asking if tires have been discontinued would constitute falling into a rabbit hole or overthinking.

I am here to make informed decisions based on tire performance and availability.

Also as tires are the only point of contact the truck is supposed to have with the ground one could easily argue they are the most important thing you can purchase for a vehicle.

Yeah if Falken plans on keeping them around for a few years I will likely get a set, but if they are being discontinued I don't want to be left high and dry if I need a replacement.
