Is suspension upgrade required for Fab Fours Premium front bumper?

I am thinking about replacing the stock bumper on a 2015 Tacoma Prerunner. This taco has a Prerunner package, SR Trim, Tow Package, Premium 17" wheels. The truck will be used for street driving 98% of the time. Virtually no off-roading.

The bumper I am considering is "Fab Fours - Premium Full Width Black Powder Coat Front Winch HD Bumper with Pre-Runner Guard". I will not install a winch. I contacted Fab Fours and they told me the bumper weighs 132.9 lbs.

Do I have to upgrade my suspension in order to install this bumper? Fab Fours told me it's recommended but not required which I interpreted as covering their butt.

Any constructive input will be appreciated. Thanks all.

Definitely a good idea to upgrade, but shouldn’t be required. Since you have a 2015 the stock shocks aren’t very old so depending on miles they should still be in good condition. 132.9lbs is basically just driving around another small(ish) person with you all the time. Your front end will probably sag a small amount and be more prone to bottoming out on speed bumps and whatnot.

So 132.9 pounds, minus 25 or so pounds for the parts you'll be removing... I doubt you'd need to worry about it. Different story if you did add a winch though.

Maybe you could measure before and after to see if your front is sagging much.

To the rest of TacomaWorld, could a small spacer in the front help him if it is sagging a little? Since he isn't offroading I'm sure a SMALL spacer would be fine.

Edit: I'd just run it with the bumper and see how YOU like it. The suspension can be tweaked later. Won't hurt the truck in the meantime.

A boat load of thanks to ImMrCrash and YF-Ryan for your kindness and useful insights. My 2015 prerunner taco is a baby with just 28K miles. Below is the Fab Fours prerunner style front bumper I am considering:

I am also thinking about adding an Iron Cross rear bumper:

If I do all these, what suspension upgrade would you recommend? Or will the the addition of the rear bumper which weighs 75-80 lbs be inconsequential?

Bear with me guys. I am Tacoma-illiterate. And thanks y'all.

If you don't haul or tow very much, the rear bumper should make little difference. The rear bumpers on these things are really lightweight, so the new one will definitely add more, but that 50 pounds or so difference... i'll lean towards inconsequential as you said. But if you haul a bunch of weight regularly in the bed, that 50 pounds could definitely make a difference.

Thanks YF_Ryan. Good information. I want to plan for a suspense upgrade, financially speaking, just to be ready. Could you suggest an upgrade package and the cost. Just looking ahead. I may not need the upgrade because I have a 22RE beast, a 1993 pickup, that seems indestructible and goes where one cannot even imagine - the ultimate off-road warrior. But as I said, just in case.

I'd head over to Headstrong Offroad's website. They have kits ranging from under 1000 to... well... A BOATLOAD of money. And I'm no expert, and depending on what your end goal is, there are tons of people with far more knowledge. @HeadStrong Off-Road always seems to have good prices and I hear nothing but good things about their people if you have questions. They seem to know their stuff.

Thanks, your time and inputs are deeply appreciated. I will go ahead with the bumper upgrades and post my observations thereafter. Cheers.

Put 100#s on you front end and take some measurements. Your going to lose stroke/range on the front struts and increase rake. Beyond that it will be what you see.
