Just old school I guess but I have always liked Rockford Fosgate amps. Are they still one of the best of the middle of the pack?

looking for a 5 channel amp. So many damn options. Only looking for 50 to 100 watts x 4 and 300-500 x 1.

    what is everyone’s goto amp?

Rockford fosgate are good for the price, yes they are still middle of the pack for most of the amps. Depending on how much you would like to spend. Ive seen people run alpine amps they dont seem to last as long as rockford, kicker is just over priced on some of the amps. Skar Audio is very controversial with price vs quality. pioneer some times doesn't meet power ratings of the amps they put out. Finally any reason why you wanna do a 5 channel vs a 4 channel and a mono block amp?

I ran 2 Rockford Fosgate amps in my 2012 DCSB.
1 P400X4 and 1 P400X1. Both for over 6 years. Never a minutes of problem with either one.
By their Birthing sheets they were both pushing over 600W each. Though only rated at 400W.

    I dunno....simplicity of installation I guess.

I ended up buying a Kicker CX660.5 for $375. It should be in this Thursday.

Rockford's middle of road - except their T series stuff - it's higher end.

Since someone mentioned Skar, I consider it low end. They 'borrow' designs from others. They don't design their own gear. It's all old recycled designs (from other designers), they don't innovate, so I personally leave them alone.

IMO Pioneer & Kenwood make the best mainstream middle of the road amps with Kenwood edging out Pioneer in terms of design although I'd happily run RF stuff if it fit my install.

    Too much.
Skar is recycled design stuff - "Chinesium", but they have hit a niche audience, and they sell. Heck I put a Skar 5 channel to power some JBL speakers and 2 of their 10" subs in my cousin's LeMans. Sounds just fine properly tuned etc. Would I buy that for my truck? No, but I have no issues putting it other people's car if they are trying to keep a budget. I'm actually thinking of taking the Arc Audio amp I put in my son's car and replacing it with a Skar LOL.

As for Go-To amps on a budget, I used an NVX 5 channel amp in my old Tundra, and it did not disappoint. The problem right now more than anything is 1. supply chain 2. chip shortage, so availability is scarce in some instances. In fact, the local installer to me is no longer selling items off the shelf, they are using all their stock for installs only.

Yes skar is recycled ideas, honestly 90% of their products now are knock offs of sundown down audio, I ran the skv2 100.4 for about a year with the factory radio head with an lc7i with some of their speakers and subs. Honestly can't beat them for the price. which is the only upside to them. but if you are dead set on the 5 channel the skm series can get really hot to the touch, I ran their skm 400.4 in a jeep put it in the back hatch and it was hot to the touch, but that amp is the size of that amp is so tiny. If you have the money you might want to look into audio control there expensive but good the LC5.1300
