Been filling up last 3-4 months with nothing but Costco gas. Yesterday filled up with QT.

Noticed today like a pinging noise while floating pedal between 35-40mph.

Vehicle hasn't done this in a long while. Is it QT gas or is it winter blend possibly causing this?

"Winter blended" gasoline shouldn't be causing any issue with your vehicle since it still has to conform with EPA, ASTM, and other regulatory and governmental specifications to be sold on the market, much less make it out of the refinery.

Then again, mistakes happen and out of spec gasoline may have made it to the consumer. Or there could be an issue with the QT station's underground storage tanks.

Either way, I'd drain all the gasoline out of the tank and fill up using gas cans full of fuel from another station. Wouldn't risk driving the truck until the fuel was replaced. Might be overboard for some folks, but there is value to being overly cautious.

They are a considered a Top Tier Gas brand. Maybe a bad batch.

Only because QT buys additives that meet Top Tier qualifications. The additives used is what makes a gasoline brand Top Tier, not the gasoline itself.

Mine does this all the time, won't stop unless you use mid grade.

Costco is also considered a Top Tier gasoline brand. I've used QT gas for a long time and my engine has made all sorts of different sounds over the years. I guess I'm just used to it at this point lol

And gas is pretty much gas. It's the additives you pay for.

You could try non ethanol gas, I used to run it in my mazda back during the BT Era. (Before Taco).
After 2 fill ups the car has noticeably more power, nothing insane but you could feel it.

Now that non-ethanol is too much I've not tried it in the taco.

Most places like Costco and QT buy gas from the same refineries on the spot market, so the gas is pretty much the same except from larger companies that have their own refining facilities. QT gas may come from a Shell refinery one week, and a Sunoco refinery the next...

Costco gas is fine. I only fill up with arco or this cheap place by my house. 90,000 miles no issues yet.

I will say that when I had a Honda Accord I was curious about gas qualities. I filled up at an arco and went about my usual driving. Then I filled up at a “mom and pop” gas station that only takes cash and gas is .20 cents cheaper. I got about 85 miles more out of arco.

Thought I was crazy so I did the test multiple times. Always got 70-90 miles more with arco. (Per tank)

My local mom and pop uses the same gas that the BP down the block uses. I know this becuase I see the tanker fill one and then another.

Gas is like car batteries, there are only a handful of manufacturers but dozens of "brands".
