Yeah, the lions get in through the air intake to the AC system, and you gotta keep the vent louvers closed otherwise they can get their paws in the cab and take your face off.

    Touchless shouldn’t be an issue.

I wouldn’t take a truck with any aftermarket accessories on the outside through a spinny brush carwash.

They are horrible for your paint anyway.

I've put mine through brushless and brush. Brush will give you the pucker factor. In general I use a waterless wash (by hand) and do the touchless wash like every 3 months. The touchless car washes tend to use more abrasive cleaners though so watch your clearcoat.

Why can't water get into the snorkel? It's that the whole purpose of it?

    wat.

no brother. The point of the snorkel is to take in air, not water. It raises the air intake so you can drive through deeper water..

This isnt the point of a snorkel. Its for getting your air intake above dust in the desert, not for making it a submarine.

They say not to take the snorkel through a hands free car wash cause its something for the auto brushes to get stuck on and damage the carwash/potentially your truck.

Also, theres like 3 different points in which water can drain from your air intake system between the snorkel head and the engine. You dont need to worry about some water getting in there.

Sigh.... do you go snorkeling in the desert? Didn’t think so. A snorkel, yes, Is also effective in desert situations and that’s only if you aren’t tailing someone.

Snorkels are designed to keep your intake out of mud and water. Also, when installing a snorkel you are supposed to seal off the drain points for this very reason.

obviously I’m aware the biggest concern in a car wash is the brushes getting stuck. Doesn’t mean when the head gets ripped off water can’t go in. That then, makes it a huge concern.

Most likely Tacomas are taken through an automatic carwash at the port. I wonder what the procedure is for the ones that have the snorkel.

I wonder if the snorkel causes any problems when loading them on a car hauler.

Edit: I see the PDI instructions are posted above.

The only sentence of my post that was directed to you was the first one, but while we're here...

You're going to be in for a surprise when you try to drive your truck through engine deep water.

I wonder why Toyota calls it the 'desert air intake'? Oh wait, no I dont.

With the stock air intake in the passenger wheel well, anyone driving dirt roads will benefit from a snorkel/desert intake/ truck straw/ dorkle..... whatever you want to call it. No matter if your following or leading.
