    Hey everyone!
So it doesn't seem like much is really done during the 5k. Im mechanically inclined, checking fluid levels and rotating tires does not seem worth the wait at the dealership. But I do keep getting a "maintenance required soon" message, and I don't know how to get rid of it or if I have to go get the dealership to clear it.

Literally having the same conversation with myself this morning coming to work, i'm at 4,829 miles and mine has been coming on for a minute....maybe having them do it starts a record on their end to keep the warranty to date.....:notsure:

I did mine a few miles ago. I think they just rotated tires and filled blinker fluid. It did not start my maintenance record for the Toyota app. I guess they checked other stuff too

I think we have the exact same miles!

I also considered taking it in just for the sake of the warranty and keeping records on file.
I do remember being told that they would only honor warranty claims if I had proper records of maintenance being done.

Tire rotation, unless you want to pay someone.

Too many but also not enough mods
It's free and just do it so you don't give them an excuse to void the warranty

For mine, I had them do a check on the transmission fluid to be sure it wasn't low like so many others had on the forum.

Thing is I bought a new set of tires so its almost pointless. I wonder If I can push my luck and get them to swap/balance a new set of tires for free lol..

It'll take em an hour and a half to do it. Can you spare that long while the salesman cruise the waiting room like sharks?

If you're not extremely busy... Its free so why not.

Plus it shows regular maintenance for the file if you have warranty issues down the road.

Yeah it’s free, no reason not to do it. But for what its worth you can reset the maintenance reminder in the settings section of that little info screen in between your dash gauges. It’s real simple. That at least gets that annoying light to go away until you go in to the dealer.

It’s not worth going in for any service. Do it yourself. How do you know they change your oil filter?

I did it. Free tire rotation and had a chance to discuss a few Tacoma specific things with them about my truck. I bought mine from Wyatt Johnson here in TN and they are one of the dealerships that offers a lifetime powertrain warranty included after the Toyota one expires. That was a huge selling point for me when buying from them so I want to try my best to stay on top of the routine stuff that they suggest.
