Well it certainly isn't good. I assume you mean from improperly installed LED lights?

Yup looks like he doesn't know better . BUT that's why he asked the question. Which is good . No such think as a dumb question .Not saying anyone implied that .
Op if installed LED you will need to add a resistor .Theres threads on here about that. Search hyperflash . loy of good info

If you're asking if it hurts the electrical system, probably not.

    - It may wear out the flasher faster than it would have, which is still probably never.
    - It will make it look like you have a blinker burned out, but as long as you don't, I can't imagine that hyperflash in and of itself is illegal.
    - It would annoy the shit outta me, so I would have to get the resistor, sooner than later...but that's just me.

If that's what you're talking about (what's going on in the video), then THAT may be illegal...but then again some cars have brake lights that flash before going solid when you hit the brakes, so maybe not.

OP: Blinker hyperflash or brake light hyperflash? If it's the brake lights, I can almost guarantee you your tacoma didn't come wired to do that...if it is, then something else is going on.

I had the same when I bought my 09, PO had LEDs in the turns and they hyper flashed. I just put some regular bulbs in there and called it good.

No money, all went to truck...
I installed LEd turn signal bulbs (DRL) and I finally got tired of the hyperflash. I am going to change them out. Dealership recommended I change them but I think they have to make that recommendation.

My turn signals have been intermittently hyper flashing over the past 6 months. It’s gotten more persistent in the last few weeks. I broke down and ordered a new flash module; about $55 delivered.

Just was curious if it was hurting the electrical system, more strain on the flasher relay is all i see. Have the LED bulbs in flashers and drl.Was looking into different was to stop hyperflash, resistors or flasher mod or just let it hyperflash.

Since install of Tacoma Beast 2016-2021 PRO SERIES LED TAIL LIGHTS ....
(which does not come with an LED reverse light? so i changed out stock halogen with LED)
Now i have intermittent hyper flash with left turn signal (front, side and rear) only
Do i need to add in resistor for only that left rear turn signal/LED?

My understanding was that the circuitry was inside the bulbs and as long as the current draw is not over what the factory one, you should be fine. Because it's not the relay that is doing the blinking and it doesn't care what the current downstream is doing after the activation, the wear is coming from the relay engaging and disengaging, which in this case it's not doing....

Probably has little to no effect on the electronic flasher in the truck.

"SAE J590b and associated standards specify 60 - 120 flashes per minute for turn signals, with 90 per minute as a target." Most state motor vehicle safety equipment codes specify SAEJ590b, so, you are likely in violation of your states motor vehicle safety code and could possibly be pulled over for the violation (like a burned out bulb).
Murphy says....and at the worst possible moment LOL
(nothing like having a couple of beers after work, then finding out from a bored cop, that your hyper-flash is a motor vehicle code violation)

Isn't it weird how so many people find hyper-flashing so annoying?! I wonder if studies were done when the flasher was invented. The 'slow' flashing seems to be a universal speed across manufacturers across the world. I have seen a few cars where it appears hyper-flashing is intentional - the car owner that marches to his/her own beat...
