Do not use stop leak! Repair the leak via replacing the bad part or tightening the fitting.

Not to cut hairs, but "A/C Freon" is R12. No longer used in the mfg. of today's vehicles

    Wow!
There are some pretty smart fella's here.
As long as we are getting into the weeds with details, OP's question was "is freon green?" The answer is no, it's clear.

While it may not be official trade name, 134a refrigerant is still universally called "Freon" among laymen and professionals alike. Think Xerox, which became a noun and a verb.

Freon is not green...however it normally gets mixed with a green/yellowish UV dye to detect leaks easier. So if it's leaking...it probably looks green/yellow or I've seen purple UV dye too

Don't agree with comment about pros calling it Freon. I don't know any that do this. If speaking general, they all refer to it as refrigerant.

Welp Stealership wants $1050 and LexTech in SoCal wants about $850. Anyone else in SoCal had this fixed for cheaper?

AC is officially dead as a of this morning. Just blowing hot air.

For what it's worth, my girlfriend had a shop here in Los Angeles replace her AC compressor on her '04 Honda Accord and it was a $900 job, we called around quite a bit and the only place that was a little cheaper had terrible reviews. The parts weren't that expensive but the labor was what ran it up so high. LA isn't a very cheap place to get work done on your car/truck.

I still say do it yourself...AC work is not cheap because of the labor. 1. Its working with hazardous material 2. People will pay a lot for AC in warm places.

Fix it yourself. You can find all the information you need pretty easy.

You can buy a vacuum pump and manifold gauges from HF for around $100. The condenser is around $50. Refrigerant with be around $20.

Looks like it's just leaking at the seal at that joint. Cheap and easy fix.
