My wife’s CRV has the automatic brake hold that allows you to take your foot off the brake while sitting at stop lights. Does anyone know if this is an option on the 24? I’m waiting for mine to be delivered but I can’t find anything online or on my invoice about this being an option so I’m assuming it’s NO. It’s a really convenient thing when deny wife’s car in city traffic.

Nope. So far, Toyota has 5 cars that have brake hold:
    • Camry
    • Corolla
    • Prius
    • Crown
    • RAV4

I’m literally in my 24 Tacoma at a stop light using the brake hold function.

I'll be the crusty old man yelling at clouds in here. Why? Is it too hard to just keep your foot resting on the brake pedal? It's never crossed my mind before to think of that as an inconvenience I'd like the vehicle to do for me.

The Lexus GX 550 has a brake hold.

Toyota engineers are so scared of the unintentional brake fiasco they don’t have the balls to make it engageable by just pushing down the brake pedal like German cars.

That's nice. I have not had used that feature before, how to take off when light turns green? Press gas panel to release brake, right?

Like I said before in my post history which I have no idea what they have added or changed for 4th gen... I am glad they added it for 4th gen...

So far I got the list from them. Unless I looked at the wrong website or they haven't updated it....

Hill holder clutch for manual transmissions is great.

Cars with PDK and similar types of transmissions typically also have it because you can’t control the clutch.

Yeah my brother had Porsche with PDK.. he had it for little while but he sold it. He always wanted a Porsche for years and finally got one and used it for while... so he moved on which is why he sold it.

I know how to use the clutch.. I drove 5 speed MT truck years ago. I don't need those nanny crap to use stuff for me. I understand that they are useful. Such as BSM, Lane detector, etc. I don't have those in my '17.

For every person like you, there is a retard in a brand new Acura Integra with manual transmission who backs into my wife’s car after he rolled half a car length on a red light because he doesn’t know how to use a clutch. Then he tried to accuse her of rear ending him until she showed him and the cop the dash camera footage.

Accident happens to anyone.. no matter what it is or how. No matter if it has MT or AT..

I haven't rolled to hit anyone or slipped off the clutch.. I was good back in the day.

I haven't used MT for years now... I use MT in my younger days. I work in house construction, which is why I use AT.

I’ll be honest, do modern vehicles even have hand parking brakes? My third generation Tacoma is probably the last vehicle I’ve owned that has had a manually operated hand parking brake.

Long gone are the days of pre-staging the clutch and manually manipulating the E-brake?
    I feel old, and cheated.........
