I bought the TRD PRO Grill and wondering if anyone of you guys are running it without the Garnish Sensor Cover?

Has anyone covered the 2 holes in the provided removable part of the grill?

Put the garnish on it. Really it doesn't look that bad, plus it's a cool way to show you have an 18 or newer. I'm happy to have mine on.IMG_20190101_121203445_HDR.jpg

Pro grille sans garnish here. I’ve only had a light briefly two or three times in inclement weather. Probably 3-400 miles like this and no problem as far as I can tell.

Have never gotten a message about the TSS malfunctioning and I'm getting a ton of harsh rainfall in Santa Barbara right now.

Yes OEM grill and garnish. $250 and no issues. I want my sensor protect rain, sleet, snow no matter what it cost me. I have a family to protect.

No garnish on my 2018 and all functions just fine. I did have a clean sensor error for the first 100 miles while the sensor adjusted to a new obstruction (the grill) in a slightly different place than the factory grill. Have been in snow, rain and no issues.

Screenshot_20190319-223722_Photos.jpg I'd suggest just getting the OEM garnish. 72 dollar grill and 50 dollar OEM garnish here. No issues with either. Sensor never acts up.

You already cut the spot out? Mine has no garnish and all works great. Seems to be hit or miss anymore. I’m just glad mine works without the garnish.

Pretty sure mine is OEM.. has OEM Part#s.. truck is lifted. maybe i didn’t give it time to adjust w garnish.. seems weird that it would work w/o it and give me an error code with it

Well shit, then I’d leave it out if it’s working with it out and getting an error with the garnish in.

No garnish, only one issue shortly after during heavy rain where it disabled itself, but cleared up shortly after.

I wish they made a good looking grille for the 18 that wasn’t the pro grille. Everyone has it and I do t like how it sticks out.

Sorry to jump in an older thread. I have a 2017. If I do the pro grill can I use it without Tssp?
My truck does not have it. So I’m wondering will there be a big open space there for the sensor I don’t have? Or is there a pro grill without the sensor?

ok so you just install it and don’t get the garnish cover.
