I want to know how if anyone experience with Ironman foam cell pro. I want the pros and. cons. Should I go with 2.5" medium or 3" medium.I. will not carry weight in the back maybe once in a while. I want to go 3" medium but at the same time I feel my cv axles are going to be on a high degree angles and the boot can rip or cause binding.Give me y'all opinion.

I would stick in the 2.5 range. I have heard good things about the foam cell. It should last you a long time. I have the full skids they make and they have been great.

I run their foam cell shocks on the front of my FJ62 and have no complaints. Go for it.

I have 40k on the FCP heavy 2.5” and love it. I have bumpers, skids, sliders and a RTT so lots of weight. If you don’t plan on adding weight, I would go medium. You could always adjust the preload later and get a little more out of the 2.5 if you want. I just did that today.

I’ve had mine on for a few years now and only complaint, is that a little stiffer than I’d really like but that includes having E rated tires. It’s tough to pick out what’s the tire and what’s the suspension.
I recommend the 3” but lower it to 2.5” lift to
avoid the cv boot issues. You could also do the boot slide mod. I say that since, unless they changed something since last time I looked, the 2.5” lift has 820# springs and the 3.0” have 720#” springs. Still a great, no maintenance kit.

I personally think that the suspension rides way too stiff and frankly, for the price they're at now, I'd look at other options. With a steel bumper, winch, skids, and sliders, I was really hoping that the springs would soften up over time, but I feel everything with the FCPs. My only other experience with Ironman stuff is my brother's nitro cell lift on his crosstrek. Obviously it's a much different vehicle, but those nitro cells soak up anything at just about any speed. If I could go back I'd go to the nitro version, but even with their constant 25% discount, I think it'd be worth it to spend just a little more and go with one of the big name guys.

I’d recommend the 720# springs. The ride is still going to be firm but planted. With how expensive they’ve gotten I’d also say to see in anyone in your area has the kit and can take you in a drive. Are you in your local region thread?

I still think what you get for the price is a great deal but they can be close to the higher end kits.

Their prices have increased about 150% for suspension kits in the last 2-3 years. I had the nitro kit on a GX which I paid 699 shipped for in 2020. Part of that is them trying to gain more ground in the US market by running low prices. Id only buy anything from them when they run their sales.

That said the nitro kit is what I’d call a budget, but solid kit. Relatively on par with Old man emu. I blew 2 rear shocks in a year and a half and they shipped me 2 new ones no questions asked. Customer service was always good to me.

Check out here to see if anyone has the kit you can try out. I only suggest that now since it’s up there in price. If it was the same I paid a few years ago I would just say to get it.

They are having a Black Friday sale for 25% on suspension right now. Wow, I was surprised to see how much they went up as mentioned. They used to be a good deal for what you got. I got my full steel skids a couple of years ago for 500 range.

I don’t have them but have a friend who has the older style suspension. The stuff I have bought from them has been good quality.

Did you end up deciding on this kit or something else? You can always call them and ask what they recommend too for your plans.

I gotcha. Not sure if this will help or not but here were my original numbers from my instal-

    From wheel hub to fender-
    drivers side front 20.5,
    passengers side front 20.75,
drivers and passenger rear at 22”.
I measured 3 times since it was less than most others at stock height. As of today, I’m at
    Drivers side front 23.5”
    Passengers side front 23.40”
    Rear 24”

SCS 17x8.5 -10 offset. 285/70/17. Iron Man Foamcell Pro stage 2 set at 2.5". 4.88 gears. Rear E-locker. KDMax Tuned
I have the pro cell 2.5". When I bought it there were two leaf spring options and I got the lighter one. I think it was called medium. If I remember it was for 0-400lbs additional weight. The reasons I went with this lift, the install, and driving impressions are in my build thread.
The only thing I don't like is that my upper ball joints are recalled. If I was doing a fresh install, I would put another coat of paint on the leaf springs first. Also,I still had to do the cv boot mod to keep the ribs from rubbing and I only did the 2.5".
This lift is fantastic for those of us that drive our trucks to work. The high end suspension systems are all designed for ultimate offroad and ruin the on road ride. Iron man made this lift extremely capable at both and they don't have to be rebuilt every 15k

I’ve not had any issues besides a bolt being installed backwards and left a small gauge in the outer layer of fuel tank. IM customer service offered to pay for a replacement tank if it was needed. Mine didn’t.

I don’t carry much extra static weight so the leafs are not being put to real use. I occasionally fill the bed with debris for the junk yard.
