So I have a 2020 TRD OFF-ROAD with 65k and an OV tune. Noticed gas mileage is starting to suck by 3-4 mpg worse and a little rough idle. So I’m deciding it’s time to change spark plugs. OEM Densos are $20 each for a standard platinum plug. Do they make iridium plugs for the 3.5’s gen 3, or is a platinum as good as you can get. If ngk or denso offers an iridium plug, does anyone know the plug number and where to order? Up for any and all suggestions.

Might also want to clean MAFS, throttle body and injectors. might be more than just plugs but at 65k could all be a variable

You can get Denso iridium plugs from advanced auto for $10 a pop. I just changed my plugs last weekend

True. Just saying the others could probably be cleaned as well

X2...NGK makes iridium spark plugs for the 3.5. They are a lot more durable than the platinums and hold the proper gap for a lot longer.

Not sure where you live but don't forget that winter fuels can cause worse MPG.

NGK iridium ix seems to have the top spot. Looking on NGK website and several auto parts sites, I can't find that they make a plug for the 3.5. Seems silly, I would hope they make a plug that applies.

    Denso iridium part # 3491
Denso TT iridium part # 4705

Looks like the 3491 part number is the better plug, also costs more. Whatever you do, stick with denso or NGK.

I'm impressed you have 65k on a 2020. I've got 25k on my 20 and thought I needed to start cutting back :)

I am at 71k miles on the OE plugs and have noticed no changes in performance or fuel economy.

They will get changed at 75 or 80k, with the OEM plugs. I won’t own it the next time they get changed.
