If it were me and I were doing a dock instead of a wireless adapter, I’d probably use a 90 degree usb adapter and passenger side cup holder to keep things looking tidy. I feel like stretching the cable across to the drivers side one would interfere with use of the pass cup holder and make putting anything in the cubby behind the cupholders a tedious.
It’s exciting that the seller is going to work with you to make something you want! That’s always such a cool feeling

Good idea. I’ll check out the adapters. Maybe there are right angle lightning cables in black. That would be perfect.

I personally would go a different route. Phone cradle, short pieces of articulating armature, and mount it to the side of the console. Similar to the dashboard ball mount idea, but lower, closer to cable outlets, and out of the way.

If I wanted a phone mount, that's what I would do.

Like this, but outside of the cupholder.

... There is also the Rago bridge mount thingy. Definitely not my taste, but other people might be into it.

Only angled lightning cables I’ve seen go left or right, but something like this could work?
I checked the Etsy bmw link but he doesn’t have pics of the underside or what the cable routing looks like
Not sure he wants the mount so much as to quickly plug/unplug for CarPlay without fishing for the cable every time. I could have misinterpreted intentions though

Yeah, I'm thinking of this more as a dock, rather than a mount.

I might end up adding a "mount" as well at some point, so when the phone is being used, it's in a good spot. That Offraom mount is already on my short list for that purpose. I might also consider the DMM mount system that Taco Garage sells.

Hey guys, just in case anyone is interested, the Etsy seller (Joleobees) finally developed a dock for me. I think he will put it in his storefront at some point, but I don't see it there yet. Anyhow, here is the mount. It's very simple and does just what I was looking for. No more fishing for a cord and tossing the phone into a cup holder to bounce around.
