I’ve been using mine all day. It’s down to 82%. You really need to charge it?

Okay, disregard this entire statement. I reset the phone and wireless charging works fine again.

Tested and can confirm that the Qi pad in the truck does work with my 12 mini and Apple Branded Silicon case. That being said, it's slow as balls:

My 12 wouldn't charge on the Qi pad until I updated to iOS 14.2. Although my case, an Otterbox Commuter claims it's Magsafe and Qi compatible it does not charge.

I plug in my phone to better access my music regardless, so it's not the end of the world for me.

Second case, similar construction and material, still not chargeable on wireless pad. Thanks Apple! I never used the wireless pad much anyhow, and I can always use the USB if needed.

Just tested my iPhone 12 Pro (not Mac) yesterday and it charged fine with the clear plastic case from Apple.

It is unfortunate there’s no better sunglasses holder.

I ordered one of those new c to lightening plug ins for cig lighter... provides a quicker charge than the charging pad. But built in pad also seems to also work for iPhone 12 mini.

hah, yeah, I could probably use a hand crank charger and charge faster than the Qi pad.

I have one of these in the dash: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08G1MS6JW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And one of these in the console: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08G1LJ1M6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And 2 of these 2 pack cables (4 total): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZF9WNBC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The cables seem to be a good length to feed from the console to the back seat, or front seat passengers, without having a ton of extra slack laying around.

    Charge speeds:

Amazing how quickly QI chargers in our trucks went from kinda cool to obsolete.

The charger in the truck sux. I have multiple wireless charging pads in my house and they work great with my Samsung Galaxy S9 and work iPhone 8. When I try to use the charging pad in the truck, the phones just get hot and don't really gain any charge (same result with either phone). I now keep the charging pad shut off and use an old school car charger plugged into the cigarette lighter/power port.

ill have to try ln a 3rd gen. I used older qi chargers non mag safe and mine charges fine with a case. Are you guys using mag safe cases or a standard plastic-type case? I ended up picking up the apple one since i was there and the others I usually get are still $$$$

I've tried it with and without the case. No noticable difference in my experience.... The home wireless charging pads work fine in either situation and the one in the truck is useless. Case or no case.

Someone needs to design a magsafe mount for the dash. Can anyone confirm the magnet is strong enough to hold like a Scosche mount?

I was wondering if the current one could be removed and a magsafe installed instead?

I just bought a 12 pro max last night and it won’t work in the case because it doesn’t sit just right. Mine will charge in the truck without the case however. As another person said, I can’t believe how slow it charges though, I never noticed before.

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
I used mine twice and the novelty wore off. You have to plug it in to use android auto or Apple play anyway so there's really no point to it.
