    Hey Everybody,

I hope everybody is doing well.

What is a good interval to replace the fuel filter on a Toyota 3.4? From what I read in the Haynes Manual, it says once every four years or every 60,000 miles which ever comes first.

Thank you in advance for all of your replies.

    Take care,
    Paul Muzinich

It depends where the truck lives after the first time when the lines were seized in the filter and had to be Cut I replace mine every spring .

Much easier then replacing fuel lines with the filter each time.

Then the ethanol blends are hard on fuel filters

Toyota labels the filters as lifetime items which don't need to be replaced. I think most folks would disagree, and the Haynes manual suggestions are accurate enough. Timmy the toolman has a great video covering the safety concerns of working with fuel lines. But the main thing is, you need line wrenches. Do not attempt to change the filter with regular open end wrenches- you're gonna have a bad time.

Not sure what you mean I have Full sets of Line Wrenches in both Standard and Metric they sort of are needed when you do lots of Hydraulic service work.

Changing them every spring works for me as filters even from Toyota are cheap I but 10 at a time .

If I lived in a nice warm Climate no winter chemicals i would never need to change any fuel filters

I guess in theory I would not need to change the filter but when I take the flare nuts loose and move them back to clean and Apply Never Seize May as well put a new filter on.

Back when I took my truck into the dealership for service they would change the fuel filter as part of their EFI Service package along with new spark plugs every 30,000 I think. It probably was a bit overkill. 60,000 sounds about right to me.
