I had halogen lights in the interior and left on “Door” position and worked. I just changed all the lights to LED lights and now the lights do not turn on when I open the door. The switch is on the “Door” position. I can turn on each and every light inside manually, via switch or pressing on the light itself and they work perfectly. But when I switch it to the “Door” position it doesn’t turn on. Any suggestions/ideas where to look. I checked the fuse and it was perfectly fine.

Welcome to the forum. Did you disconnect the battery when you changed the lights? It’s possible to fry controls on these trucks by simply changing a bulb.

Try reversing, I think the polarity matters on LEDs.
    Disconnect battery this time too:D

Here’s the wiring diagram. May have fried R44 controller. Call @caribe makaira the resident electrical expert.

    Welcome to the forum :hattip:

These trucks have super sensitive electrical systems, always disconnect & isolate the negative battery terminal when doing any electric work.

You aren't the first person to frost something changing a bulb and won't be the last either.

Why change the interior lights anyway?

    Because incandescent light bulbs suck.

The stock lighting seem fine to me. Nice warm lighting. And no electrical problems, either. Seems like people just want an excuse to buy something new.

Nahhh... it's the 21st century, why do automakers insist on using garbage incandescent bulbs that frequently burn out, are too hot for the fixture and warp/degrade the plastic, and are dim??

(Yes I know the reason is "cost", it's a rhetorical question!)

SE Toyota actually sells an LED interior lighting upgrade as a port installed option (at a very inflated price of course), but when I asked my dealer to do it they said they wouldn't. I'm glad I didn't do it because a short time later I got to see a friend's truck when he changed over to LED on the inside and I thought I was going to need sun glasses....those damn things are BRIGHT! LOL. Between the PITA install on some of the bulbs, the possibility of frying something expensive, and the interrogation room brightness of the interior I think I'll just stick with my crappy dim OEM interior lighting :)

To the OP, I hope nothing expensive is fried!

The older you get the more light is required.
The factory lights allowed me to find the seat but not read anything.
MESO map lights changed frustration to convenience for a reasonable cost.

Exactly! The incandescent bulbs were just too dim to actually see anything in the cab at night.

You could just wire them directly to the battery and leave them on all the time like a guy did with his bright blue LED interior lights in our town. He runs them 24/7 in his Corolla, even when parked overnight!

I see. So the bright blue LED lights are for old people to read in the truck.

You got it -- and some day you will get it too. ;);)

The distance between being a young hooligan and an old guy shouting "get off my lawn" is surprisingly short. :pout:

BTW, the MESO lights aren't blue, more like a daylight.

Just the right brightness for map lights and license plates. I do not understand why owners install overly bright bulbs inside or for the plates.

No frying of electrical components with these bulbs. Make sure all switches are off and you are good. Have used these bulbs on three gen3 Tacomas with good results
