I just ordered the same system. Did you use the P/Outlet No 1 specifically? Also if you use an add a fuse then you obviously can't put the cover back on it. Is that a concern? Is there some sort of extended fuse cover you can buy for it?

MESO Customs had an extended cover, I could never get my hands on one, so I gave up on that. I just keep the stock cover in my glove Box for future reference.

Edit: After I wrote this I decided to check the website. The covers are available now. 20 bucks.

The install guide says any constant and any switched for the two power sources. It recommends Hzd or door lock as always on.

The 2nd Gen has no fuse box cover, just hiding behind a dash panel. I also kept the lid as a reference just in case.

Is "DOOR F/L" the locks? or "DOOR F/R" or "DOOR R/L"? That's what I'm getting confused on is matching the terminology in the thread to the actual printed terms on the panel. I'm not very experienced with this.

    If you don't have a sunroof, use the s/roof fuse ( that's what s/roof stands for ).

What does AM2 no.2 7.5a fuse do? I'm getting a 500ma draw when the truck is off and pulling this fuse removes the draw. I think I see its connected with the smart key ECU as a power source.

Not sure if this will be helpful but I just finished hard-wiring a thinkware F70 dashcam in my 2020 tacoma using the 2 empty fuse slots on the interior panel. The lower bottom left was constant 12 (left side) and the empty right upper/middle was switched on 12 v (right side). The fuse taps from the wiring kit fit nice and snug. Just attached a diagram with voltmeter info for each fuse (ignition off). I couldn't get a good reading on the DOOR R/L fuse?

So what amp fuse did you use at the empty slots?

So i did some research and it said dashcams barely use an amp or under. So it said to go with 2.5

I didnt have 2.5 so i went with a 5 for now. I thought since its an empty slot i needed only one fuse but it didnt work so i went with 2 5s and its working.

Your vehicle has Jam-Protection windows. Front window fuses are always "hot" (Battery) the rear are ON after IGN.

@caribe makaira - I found the post very helpful when working on my 2022.

    I have two questions:
I think if using an "Add-A-Fuse" the battery side in the fuse diagram posted by Sac7dseven is "R" side of the fuse, correct?

The other question I have, and others have asked this before, is there a list of what these short-descriptions are for both the fuses in the engine compartment, and also under the dash for GEN3?
    Thx.

Post a link to that particular post you are quoting. Easier to answer.

Toyota info shows all the circuits one particular fuse is related to. Most are "controllers" to various circuits, others are the fused power to one or more circuits.
I think there is thread on that info...:pccoffee:
