Ok so I posted in the second gen section but thought this place was more appropriate. I bought the truck and the doors were fine I went to wipe down the door panels with a damp cloth and they started peeling. And then today the black part of the driver door panel started to peel off. It like my poor truck got a sun burn and is peeling. How can I make it look good again?

    Ive contemplated
    1. dupicolor interior paint
    2. Plasti dip
    3 vinyl wrap
4 saying f it and line x the whole door panel.

Please help Its driving me nuts.

Have you tried to remove those panels?

I've been thinking about this only because I personally like beige interior but all the new trucks will likely have that horrid industrial black/gray interior. I'm wondering how easy it is to completely remove the panels and use that dupicolor paint. I've used the paint to fix some blemishes on my current truck and it seems ok. It isn't a perfect match so to do a top notch job the whole area has to be redone. I just would never want to attempt this without removing everything. A door panel would be much easier and you likely could get away with the color not matching 100% but do check how close of a match it is first lol.

The only downside I see to painting it is that you likely will lose some texture.

So after a while it got bad and I got bored and started peeling away. Turns out it was plasti dip and it was everywhere. What gave it away was the sticker by the cup holder it wasn't painted over on the driver side but was on the passenger side. Ive dealt with plasti dip a lot and had remover that isn't harmful to plastic. Whoever did this did a super thin job hence why I couldn't tell it was plasti dip. I got it all off the panels are scratched and I guess thats why he painted them but it looks better than how it was.
