    From 2020 Auto issue.

Interesting data. Gen 2 apparently the way to go. Explains scarcity of them.

The 2012 and 2013 climate reliability rating is most likely due to the blower motor resistor flaw that most of these suffered from. Easy fix.

The 19' looks like a good year, although not sure why the lesser overall reliability.
I'm not going back to a 3rd Gen again unless I really have to.

Don't know where they pulled stats from, but my '13 is clearly a cream puff.

And only 33k miles to boot. :D

The 13 got stellar scores except for climate control. Most likely the very common easily fixed blower motor resistor problem.

Agreed. Beyond the scope of most owners ability to DIY, and of course it's annoying anyway.

But I also have a very simple manually controlled system. No silly dual zone automagic gee whiz stuff like my '14 RAV has. My hope is that the RAV doesn't break. :fingerscrossed:

Mine also has just plain old climate system...I had a Lexus and did enjoy the set it and forget it, but long term this is easier to fix when it someday breaks.
