What are you all paying for insurance? Mine has gone to almost $150 with Progressive and I have a clean driving record, seems high. Is there any other companies I should look at. Thanks in advance

...^^^... Mine has gone higher than that with USAA with a super clean record, but I do have fairly high limits.

You should find an independent agent and let them do all the shopping for you.

There are too many variables that go into a specific policy for any internet forum gleaning to do you too much good, and certainly not for specific numbers.

I think where you live has a big factor on cost. When I left Phoenix for small town Utah, it went down to a third of what I paid in Phoenix. And it didn’t matter what I drove in Phoenix, 13 taco, 03 Lexus sport cross, 18 4Runner, 18 Subaru, 16 tundra, or 19 wrangler unlimited rubicon… it was always within a $5 swing for any of those. It’s similar where I live now, pretty minimal swing on cost difference with a wide variety of vehicles.

We pay right around $65/mo. for both the '03 Taco and wife's 2011 Rav4, pretty sure it's not full coverage but has a long list of coverages including 30K accidental death. But then both cars are paid off, we're old (and cranky) with spotless driving records.

Wife searched it down with a local agent. It's a company called Auto-Owners Insurance out of Lansing MI, but also has Acrisure Northwest Partners out of Lynwood WA on the policy. I recommend staying away from the big companies that invest millions in stupid ads, try to go local, they will work harder for you.

Insurance is a scam, always has been, always will be. Told you I was cranky.

If insurance rates go up when there's an accident even if you're not at fault, why don't insurance rates go down after a quarter century of no wrecks and no citations? See, you got me started, now I'm really cranky. :jpow:

California here. Insurance rates have been climbing, even though I barely drive and my wife and I are both safe drivers.

It’s also really infuriating how insurance companies give you better rates if you bundle so you can’t really shop around without changing all of your policies.

I use Farm Bureau. Less than $700 per year. Full coverage for 2024 Tacoma TRD Sport double cab. Do not care much for the .coms.

Nc here, I have State Farm. Their adjuster after an accident tried ripping me off and they seem disorganized for what should be a simple decision but wasn’t (other car ran the stop light and an independent witness stuck around, but the other insurance co if still denying liability)

national general/allstate, well I have opinions on them I can’t post on public forum. Their driver ran a light and fled a scene. They’re dragging out liability claiming I could have swerved to miss their insured. My passenger is still dealing with them for her to jury claim. They tried closing her claim and have been ducking and dodging her calls and emails. A buddy of mine had similar issues and ended up having to sue the other driver to get any results

The state you live in has a lot to do with claims. Found that out the hard way with our oldest.

I have been with State Farm for around 24 years now. I'm paying just under $2000 a year for full coverage for my home and two vehicles in Pennsylvania. No claims, tickets or accidents, "bundling" discount for home and vehicles and as mentioned above, WHERE you live is a big influence on cost. I've looked into the same coverage in states out west, notably Colorado, and the cost basically doubles for the same coverage.

I actually had somebody that was an Erie customer total my first GEN. Overall, I would say the experience was better than I have had with most insurers. They were very quick to take responsibility, they did initially lowball me, but I actually were able to work up to a fair number, and did not bat an eye at getting me a rental…and I wasn’t even their insured
