Installing TRD Pro leather seats in a 2021 off-road?

I love my Tacoma but there is one thing I HATE about it - the seats suck!

Honestly, if there was a decent way I could just fix lumbar support I'd be 99% happy.

However, what I'd REALLY like to do is either:

    1. buy a TRD pro seat from Toyota (I called a dealership and they said it's impossible)

    2. find a salvage 2021 TRD pro and buy the seats and install them in my truck.

    Any advice here?

I haven't been able to find any salvage TRD pro leather seats online, unfortunately.

Think I should contact other dealers and see if they can help out?

I imagine Toyota doesn't sell TRD pro seats because all of them are going into new trucks.

You guys have any advice here?

Honestly, this is the ONLY reason I'm thinking of upgrading to the Tundra but it's a HELL of a lot of work, time, and money to make that switch so I'd MUCH rather fix my Tacoma!

Are you just looking for leather?

They are the same shape between the two trucks. You have power seats in your truck?

Are the TRD Pro seats different or just leather covered?

They're supposed to be powered and adjustable with lumbar support.

The same harness is in the TRD off-road and the other Tacomas so in theory you can just install the whole seat.

FWIW, my buddies 19 OR has got the cloth seats. They look like same shape as my seats but for some reason my seats are way more comfortable. His seats are too soft.

    Interesting about the softness.

The cloth seats have lumbar. Thats what the big spinny knob does.

It will take a bit of extra wiring to run power to a power seat. Alternatively, take your truck to an upholsterer, describe whats uncomfortable, and have them reshape the foam and install katskin. It'll probably be easier.

My 19 OR had the premium package so came with leather seats but no powered adjustments or lumbar. I share this assessment too. I was never comfortable in my 19 on long trips. But my 23 Pro, the seats are significantly better.

Just get Katskizn or other leather and add front seat jackers.

You kind of fall into the cloth seats, whereas the leather ones are much firmer and have more support.

I think that’s why so many folks post threads that the seats are not comfortable.

When you say leather, do you mean fake leather? Outside of aftermarket covers, you won't find much if any real leather in the OE seat covers. They are now to the point where they say "leather trimmed' I don't know where they actually put the leather trim, but is sure as hell isn't the seating surface. Unless of course it is like Almond milk where they call it 'vegan leather' so it really isn't leather at all.

Noticed similar with my buddies 21 Pro (we're both 21's) and my cloth OR seats felt much more comfortable, but with the opposite feeling - his were way too stiff and I did not like them at all.

People who want real leather don't remember what the interior of a 1985 Buick looked like in 1995. Or why your disgusting creepy uncle put those fuzzy seat covers on his Merc S-Class - the one with a missing hood ornament and a half-retracted antenna.

It’s actually real leather where you sit. Bolsters and back of seats is pleather/softex/vegan leather whatever you wanna call it
