I'm trying to set myself up for towing a Escape 19. A lighter weight "Egg" Fiberglass trailer(3250# dry weight). The tow vehicle is a 2014 PreRunner, SR5 with tow package. I want to put in a Tekonsha Prodigy P3. I thought I read somewhere that the tow package has already installed 7 pin plug with the brake wire running up to & under dash somewhere for with some kind plug ready for the controller? I have the 7 pin plug under bumper. No need to running a whole new wire? I have nerve damage right hand, & using hand tools & fishing around in tight places is hard for me. Any photos of what I would be looking for, if there is a plug end? Thanks

I put one in my 2010 with TP. It is under the dash up above the parking brake pedal. Your truck should have come with the other end of the plug that goes to bare wire for installation. Depending on what control you have there could be a quick connect harness like with the Curt one I installed.

I Have a 2014 and same for mine. Plug is up above the E Brake pedal. The mating wire came in the glove box when I bought the truck new. Just pinned out the diagram and wired to the controller. Mounted it above my right knee. Took about an hour. Works great and I tow with it alot.

I riveted mine to the change tray by our right knees. Nice because you can see the lights through the steering wheel!

It may be behind easy to remove interior panels in the left footwell area. Unless I was looking at the wrong connector.

Mine wasn’t too hard to find in my ‘06, but finding the wiring in my wife’s Audi Q7 was way tougher! So keep looking and you should find it. I have a cheap Quest controller on my Tacoma, which gets the job done. But the Tekonsha in her vehicle is awesome. So good choice

Well I went digging into the bottom of the glove box. I haven't had the truck that long. I found out I have the navigation system!? Which I'll never figure out, or trust. I had Garmen, it went totally OUT, in the middle of NOWHERE, on a heavy cloudy day(couldn't tell which direction was what!), no maps. Also I'm someone who is Still on Windows 7, & uses only a clamshell cell. I found some kind of wiring for the back-up camera, & this bundle of wiring with a "heavy red" wire, looks promising, like I don't have to order one. [IMG] Now to read the manual I guess.

Gotta remove the drivers side plastic door sill, then remove the plastic foot step, and then remove left panel by the parking brake. Then the plug is wrapped around other wires up towards the parking brake. Your going to have to feel for it.
