I installed mine myself in about an hour, it's pretty straight forward. You may need a floor jack or an assistant to get it lifted in place but the rest is easy.

Ranch hand grill guards are just damage multipliers.

Yes in a vehicle collision, but they work well for minimizing damage from collisions with deer and other small animals. And also for giving stubborn cattle a nudge:D

I grew up on a ranch in Texas, they dont do shit against a deer body damage wise. Made quite a few dollars fixing trucks with used panels from them. That's why I bought a full bumper.

Idk both my Dad (2012 F-250) and my Stepmom (2014 GMC Sierra 1500) have them and they have saved the front end several times from deer and wild hogs. Granted this is on rural roads where we seldom drive faster than 55, sure if you hit one at 60+ it's gona do some damage.

I grew up 20mi from a main road out in BFE west Texas, I've seen a grill guard pretzel from all sorts of things. They must have got lucky then or was small animals.

OP, it's your truck and buy what you want but things to consider:
    - At a listed 89lbs, make sure you have the front suspension to support it.
    - This may be an upgrade from the cheap bull bars but still won't have the full protection of an aftermarket bumper.
    - You will lose ground clearance along with the added length to the truck which will affect parking and DIY maintenance work.
    - As others have stated, it is a damage multiplier due to the mounting design and shape of grill guards and bull bars, regardless of the material makeup.
