maybe missed, but never found any pictures of anyone that did the AT3 4s on stock TRD Sport rims with a size up (to 265 70 R17)

Below are some pictures of my truck. Had this done today so only a few miles on them. Seem to drive really nice. No rubbing at all with the size upgrade. I think they look good!

Hope this helps some other sport owners out there with the stock rims!8972F1BD-7AE6-426A-A069-A6E55D7016A5.jpg

Those will be what I buy when I replace my stock tires.

Looks great. What made you go a size up? Have you noticed any difference in mpgs with them being a size bigger? I'm pretty much sold on the 4s just trying to decide if I want to stay stock or go a size up.

@sweatytaco69 - just saw your note. Ironically I just put my 2nd set on a couple weeks ago after a little over 3 years and about 56K on them. They lasted almost to the 65K warranty and Discount Tire prorated the difference toward the next set - so no regrets. They might have had another 5K in them, but Discount Tire was nice to me. Great tires.

    [edited for error]
As for the size up - Mostly just wanted a little more clearance. The 265/70R17s give about 1/2").
I like the stance now a little better than stock too. ZERO rubbing/ clearance problems so no worries there either.

The tire size gives you 1/2” more clearance.

Ah yes - you are right - Diameter is 1", but Clearance is 1/2". (My mistake). Been a while since I ran that math

No complaints. I’m on my 2nd set since the original post (just changed to new ones a few weeks ago). Original post was back in 2019 and got about 56K miles on them - so pretty close to 65,000 warranty and Discount tire prorated on the new set.

I have run several sets of those and like them. They will hold small stones though so you get a click click luck click click click.

Have you run into any issues with the tires being bigger? Like the speedometer/odometer being off? and did you replace your spare as well or just keep the oem 265/65/r17 spare?

No issues at all. The speedometer actually matches more closely with GPS speed. As for Spare - I'm kicking myself for not putting one of the previous set on my spare (I'm on my 2nd set of 265 70 R17 now). Forgot to tell Discount tire to do it. So for now I have the Stock size on my spare - but shouldn't be a 'practical' problem to run temporarily. Diameter difference is 1"; Height difference is 1/2". Mileage - not much difference. Maybe 1/2 MPG - but not sure if that had more to do with removing the 'air dam' up front or not. Did that at the same time.

I decided to pull the trigger. 265/70/17 was definitely the move. Transformed the look of my truck. I was worried these wouldn’t have as aggressive of a look as I’d hoped once I got them but pictures don’t do them Justice. These tires look sharp in person. If anyone else is unsure about these. Get em!

First photo is the original tires for reference.

I've been debating on going up a size, but I have the 4Runner pro wheels that took the offset to +4mm. People have offered mixed experience as to whether or not they will rub on the front OEM mud flaps with that tire and wheel combination, and I really don't want to have to take off the mud flaps in the front. Granted, those that said they got a rub did say it was minor and only at full lock when going over a bump or braking, but still...lol

Hard to believe that just that little extra size makes a difference in the look of the truck, but seeing is believing.

I installed Cooper Rugged Treks a size bigger than stock on my SR. These are 265/70R16s. Look great in my opinion. 55,000 mile tread warranty, too.
