Hi folks, I wanted to know if anyone did this diy on their Tacoma. I go camping 5/6 times a year so I don't want to drill into my bed. I also use my truck to haul things. Anyone have a set up that they can share. If I am not camping I don't want to carry a fridge around as my daily or have the slide get in the way. I see a lot of folks drill through their bed. My fridge weighs 50lbs so having a slide would be great. Thanks in advance.

I had a slide in my bed. Just drilled though the bed too. No big deal. Then I got a bigger fridge and now it sits in my back seat when I go camping. But I also have a rear seat delete.

I plan to drill thru the OEM bed mat and utilize some corner braces. My idea, which may fail is to sandwich the bed mat, which is pretty heavy and fairly secure especially with camping gear on it between these brackets and the slide. I have a Dometic CFX35 so I’m thinking it may work. If not, then I’m going to skip the slide for now since I won’t want to drill thru my bed either at the moment.

I'm trying to figure this out too. My thinking is just put in a plywood floor and mount to that. I don't think you would need to screw the floor down as it wouldn't go anywhere. Pull it out when not needed. A rubber mat under might help too.

I was thinking that too. Just wondering how big I needed the plywood to be to hold a 50+ lbs fridge. I am sure someone has done it.

I was going to cover the whole floor. Need two pieces though or butt up to one wheel well and cut out for the other. Would leave a small section uncovered but easier. Full 5' length means not really going to move.

So not my Tacoma, but on my Jeep, I installed a false floor in back. I reused the rear seat's bolts with L brackets. The floor is plywood that I painted with a bed liner spray. The slide then bolts to the floor, and easy to remove.

I was thinking to do the same thing in my Tacoma, but I have a Diamondback bed cover and my fridge is slightly too tall, so it's instead in the cab behind my seats (with a GooseGear floor).

Dredging up an old thread. I have a new Trailhunter and do not want to drill my bed either. It came with a very heavy duty oem bed mat. Outside of a plywood subfloor, thinking 3/8" nutserts in the bedmat may just do the job. There are 8 bolt holes in the slide I have for my 35L Dometic fridge. It's one of few that would fit under my tonneau cover! I have about 1" spare height, so 1/2" plywood would work if it came to that.

That's nice that you got a short fridge! Honestly, 35L is enough room (mine is 42L). I like your idea to attach it to the mat, but I'd just make sure that the mat doesn't move when the fridge is full and the slide is out.
