Quick question on removing the inner tie rod.
Mine does not want to budge. I feel like it should be easier to break loose since it's not rusted on there. Is there any special trick for this?

I don't know of a trick but I will say I had to put all of my muscle into get this free. I was pretty sketched out trying to yank on that thing while laying underneath the truck on jack stands. I would use a breaker bar or add an extension onto the wrench. However, might be difficult given there's limited space to attach the wrench with the inner tie rod only having two flat sides.

I'm sure you did but you removed that stake "claw" washer, right?

Do you remember what size wrench? The largest I had on hand at the time was a 32mm. Not even close. Ended up grabbing a pipe wrench and that took care of it.

Turn to max lock, so its further out.

I use a large pipe wrench.

a propane torch can heat up the locktite if its part of the problem.

I totally forgot about how large that was. I think I had a wrench on hand that was large enough for it but honestly only recall the actual struggle, not exactly what wrench I had.

Either torch the outer tierod so the inner will get loose or get a 18 inch cresent wrench. At my shop I have had to slide my 18 inch cresent wrench into my 3 foot long breaker bar to bust the tierod nut or inner tierod loose.

It can be confusing laying under the Truck .

I still sometimes turn things the wrong way.

With the outer tie Rods removed I had no real problems getting the old ones out.

I’m stuck at the same point, breaking the ITR loose. My problem is my large adjustable wrench is too wide to fit in the flats of the steering rack.

Is it safe to really muscle the ITR off with a pipe wrench without holding the end of the rack?

It’s what I had to do on the passenger side. Yeah you wonder if it’s going to damage or twist something. Well 18,000 miles later and all is still good and solid after the old pipe wrench Gorilla KIX.

Put a pipe wrench on it this morning and gave it a whack with a 4lb maul and popped it loose. Progress!

You might be, it wouldn’t take much these days…

I’ve moved on to the UCAs now. I thought the ES poly bushings would be easier than pressing out the bushing since they reuse the outer metal sleeves from the old bushings. I’ve spent the last 2 hours burning, cutting and drilling the rubber out of the old bushings on the first UCA. What a PITA. And I still have to get the old ball joint out of the top of the steering knuckle.
