I bought Moog, if you enjoy living on the edge, cheapie Chinese crap is available on EBay for less than lunch at Taco Bell.

How much is the entire steering rack?
I just had mine replaced 2 years ago and I thought the steering rack included inner tie rods?

Not sure. I was able to get the OEM boots, OEM inner/outer clamps, and OEM inner tie rods for around $220 shipped. My guy charges me $130 labor and $50 for the alignment. So $400 total

    Just looked thru my paperwork.
$981 for steering rack and inner rods.
Naturally, that's Toyota's price and I think that was with labor.

Jesus, $150 each seems pretty high, even for OEM. A lower balljoint is like $120 from Camelback, wonder why inners cost so much.

That said, just get yourself 555's, they're like $30, and 555 is a well respected OE manufacturer.
    http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/toyo...a-tacoma-inner-tie-rod-end-left-or-right.html

You can get one from lowrangeoffroad, including inner and outter TREs, and poly bushing kit for under $500 now (on sale). Normally they're ~$580.

I got lower bj's from them and had Toyota install em when I had all this other work done. They are rusted to shit already.

Mine have a nice rust-colored sheen on them as well.

That doesn't affect performance one bit, however.

If you want to pay 2x as much for OEM just so you can have a slightly better finish, be my guest. Not that my OEM BJs didn't have the same discoloration when I took them off...

Next time I replace them, I'll probably just throw a coat of paint on them before installation.

That's probably what I should have done.
My paperwork from Toyota is a bit confusing though. It says I requested a quote for lbj's but I'm sure I purchased the low range ones about the same time I purchased 2 spare 4340 chrome rear axles.

Probably need to organize this stack of invoices. Lol.

Yeah, I'm sure I've got most of them laying around, too. My wife has this "system" for keeping receipts and stuff, which you'd think is a good thing, but it's honestly god awful and she's actually accidentally thrown away her social security card because of her "system", lol. It's funny because she's super type A about everything. Except this.

Only real reason to keep al the receipts is to show a potential buyer your maintenance records, but I'm never selling this thing so it doesn't matter.

Get the 555s from Low Range Offroad, I just did mine last month. Got OEM outers and 555 inners, no issues at all so far.

I agree on the keeping of receipts. I'll never sell mine either. It's mainly because my brain malfunctions some time and I can't remember what I did yesterday.

Just finished replacing the whole damn front end on my 99 except the rack and control arm bushings. Someone had just replaced the bushings before I got it. I don't want to add up the parts cost. I'm just glad it's over. Though new SS lines from Wheelers arrive today. That will be this weekend's project.
