Running a Pioneer DMH-WC6600NEX faded heavily to the front in 3rd gen DCSB. Have a set of unused Infinity Reference REF-6530cx 6.5" components intended for a car no longer owned. Would like to maybe repurpose them if possible by using only the woofer in the back doors (fronts are taken care of).

Infinity specs the set as nominal 3 ohm creating a 4 ohm load when wired up? Using a DMM the woofer is showing 2.5 ohm (so ~3 ohm). Pioneer owner's manual advises 4 ohm to 8 ohm speaker loads. I understand speaker impedance values are dynamic.

Will using only the woofer create too low of an impedance for the head unit?

The highest LPF crossover setting in the head unit is 250 hz. Should the passive crossover be connected even though the tweeter won't be used?

    you're mostly over-thinking it ;)

they're perfectly fine to run direct in the rear location. just be warned, it's not as acoustically-designed as the front doors, so you'll get very little bass out of them no matter the setting. but the radio will run them just fine.

    Figured I probably was. :bananadead:

Not expecting much from the rear doors honestly. More so just want to keep minor rear fill and have these speakers sitting around.

All four doors have HushMat on the inner door skin and SoundSkins Pro between the door card and door.

    Appreciate your response!
