Is it necessary to do? Do you guys do it?
I’m replacing my plugs with oem, was wondering if it’s worth learning how to index.
    Thanks.

Opinions vary. It can't hurt, but I don't see any real value in an engine like ours... a 1500bhp super-fuel drag engine? Sure. 250bhp pump-gas compact truck engine? I'd submit that benefits are negligible.

Completely pointless for this engine and use.

I’ve found that this is done in vehicles that get high mpg where fuel burn/atomization is more sensitive. I.e, 50 mpg+

Not somthing that makes much difference in modern engines.

Only when i race my car back in the 70's. Imo, i doubt it makes much difference on these engines.

Good post highlighting undesirable effects of doing so.

There are also drawbacks to indexing spark plugs. When washers are added, the spark plug may loosen if the washers don’t crush properly and hold the torque. Also, if too many washers are added, the firing end of the plug will not be as far into the combustion chamber and performance can decrease.

I think you can still buy spark plug shims from moroso to index the plugs.
