I have a ecoflow delta mini that I am trying to charge from the 12 V cigarette outlet. Eco flow states that the delta mini DC charging input is 12 V and 8A. I’m not very well-versed in electronics and it won’t charge using the cigarette outlet. Can someone help me out?

Does anything else power up from the outlet? Perhaps the fuse blew.

If I recall there is a sticker on the outlet’s cover which states the maximum current the outlet provides.

    Is this your product here?
I watched this months ago and if I recall,
There is something odd with how that device charges at a reduced capacity on a 12v cig.
You may want to watch how they did theirs as I believe they connected it to the battery/alternator to get higher amperage.

I don’t recall all the details so I apologize if my memory is incorrect.

No fuse blown. I plug my phone charger into both outlets and it works. Yeah the sticker says 120W max.

In that case the power station should charge then as it’s charging at 8A according to ecoflow, right? 12v x 8A = 96W

Correct 12v at 8a is 96 watts which is below the 120w maximum. Something else is keeping the fridge from working.

This and another one of his videos were pretty helpful. He said he had to set up a DC - DC converter to lower the amps straight from the battery. If I go to the trouble of doing that I might as well just go all in on a dual battery system and not have to worry about power station charging.

Do you have a multimeter? I’d continuity check the cable between the lighter and the EcoFlow.

Most power plug adaptors have an internal fuse. Do a continuity check or take the plug apart and check the fuse.

I have a EcoFlow River Pro. I did the in cab mod for a 120v outlet off the inverter. The inverter is located under the center console. Once you are in there you should consider doing the 400w anytime mod too.

I have a solar panel hooked up to the EcoFlow and it's also plugged into the 120v power outlet I installed. Start the Taco and it automatically switches from solar to the outlet. The EcoFlow charges at 100w and I did the 400w anytime mod so I could, and I have, plug in my laptop to charge on AC power.

My River Pro only gives 2 options for charging on AC power, 100w or 660w fast charge. Since my inverter only puts out 400w I have it set to charge at 100w. I've heard with the newer models it's a sliding scale and I wish I could set mine at around 200w.

Yeah I have the anytime mod done for the outlet in the bed; I have an ecoflow river pro back there acting as a house battery for the camper.

my goal with the delta mini was to have it full time in the cab to power a dometic fridge inside or other gear I want to keep in the cab. I suppose I could install a 120v outlet in the cab like you did and just charge it that way. You just tap off of the inverter wiring under the center console?

I suppose for the money I’ve put into these ecoflows I could have just gotten a pre wired dual battery system from genesis for the same price about. Hah, oh well.

Ya, I just tapped off the inverter output, there are a couple of threads around here on how to do it.

Most put an outlet on the backside of the center console, plenty of room to install it. I wanted to be different so i put an extension cord plug on 10' of 14ga SJO 3 wire cable. I keep it coiled under the passenger seat. If, for whatever reason, I need power outside the cord will reach and I can gently close the door if I need to.

Why I wouldn't just run a cord from the bed of the truck :anonymous:, well... Options, I need options:rolleyes:

That would be too easy… ;)

Ok the in cab outlet seems super easy. I’ll do that. Now here’s another question… can I/is it safe to charge both my power stations at once?… ie the one in the bed and the one in the cab.

I ran a relay switched circuit of 10ga conductor off the battery to a dual 12v socket that I hid behind the rear passenger seat. I can run my 45qt fridge and charge my jackery on it at the same time. IIRC the jackery and the fridge running full tilt max mode pull ~13A.

Edit-my bad. Realized after I posted you are looking for AC power.

Depends on the total wattage draw. Remember it has to be less than 400w draw. Frankly I'd be cautious in getting close to 400w. The stock inverter puts out pretty trashy AC power, you'll notice that when the input power on the EcoFlow keeps changing. Mine runs from 90v to 125v. It's definitely not Pure Sine Wave Power. I thought about swapping out the inverter for a higher wattage Pure Sine Wave, but there are space considerations (larger inverters are physically larger and need greater heat dissipation) and I would need to run new supply wiring to the inverter. At that point I think it would be easier just to wire in a 2nd inverter in a new location.

All that to say I think these are cheap inverters and as such QC could be all over the place, your stock inverter may run better than mine. Just be cautious if you push them.

No worries. That’s a good idea actually that I could consider doing as well

Got it. Maybe with them both in the slow charging mode it’ll work. I’ll experiment a little after I wire it up. Yeah my inverter jumps around when I’m charging the one in the bed as well.

I think my set up wants are a little complicated for these power stations. Maybe this is my calling to build out a built in 12v system and not even worry about AC powering anything…

Have you tried plugging the 12v plug from your Delta mini into another vehicle? or even into you river pro to test? I'm curious if the cord is bad, or the cord's internal fuse needs replaced.
