quick question ,has anyone bought or installed a in bed fuel tank for there 2016 Tacoma ,I know a lot of diesel owners do this for long trips but have not seen on gas motors, I would like to add a 35 to 45 gallon tank in bed for long road trips so I would not have plan every fuel stop? thanks for any advice

I actually have seen pics of tacos with this ad-on, but only in the middle east.

It would most certainly weigh you down and dramatically effect handling and power delivery. I used to drive with a big tank of water in a truck and it was downright dangerous sometimes. In your post, you say that you want this so you don't need to plan every fuel stop. Is that literally something you plan out? In today's modern roadway system, there's stations everywhere. I personally have never been anxious enough to plan something like that. May I ask where that mindset is coming from? I can see if you're going to south america or a very long adventure through the desert or mountains... but you're road tripping through the USA right? Genuinely curious, not trying to poop on your thread.

You have to pull off on the side of the road anyways to fuel up. I could see if you owned a lawn business or had your boat in a remote location where you couldn't get fuel easy it would be a good benefit. Just don't see why you would want one for a road trip. Is there something I am missing?

IMO, this is a great idea for remote travel, but just make sure to use the gas that's in the 2ndary tank if you're using it for regular transportation. Gasoline wont sit for long periods of time (especially E10) without degrading, unlike diesel, so it is good to go through both tanks before filling up. Probably something you already knew, just adding something to think about.

true, but if the tank (any tank) is full it will degrade slower than if there is air inside. I've had ATVs that we left topped off all winter (6mo) outside with the vent closed, and the gas inside remains fine. Thinking as long as its topped off or used within a decent amount of time, gas remains gas. Maybe have water remover on hand in case?

also you could install the tank in such a way that when not needed it can be removed and stored AFTER BEING emptied into the primary tank. This is how I plan to do mine ! (still doing research on this setup)!

It's no 30-40 gallons, but I know there's guys who pull off the old old Ford gas tanks. So that would be 2x10 gallons.
