I'm looking for advice on impact wrenches. Not sure what features, etc. to look for. My needs are very basic, loosen lug nuts, etc. No big fasteners to break loose, or used daily. Any and all advice, recommendations are appreciated. Thanks TW

Do you really need that for just lugs?

Yes, it would be a little faster, but worth the $ ?

And if using it to install lugs, will you invest in torque sticks?

And if you have fancy lugs, far more likely to bust up the corners.

Do you have an air supply? Are you thinking battery so you can carry it in the field? If so, maybe one that the battery would fit some other tools you have?

I changed tires on a car 2x a month for a few years (race tires / street tires) and never used the impact even though I had one.,........

Just some random thoughts to noodle.

Cordless, I currently have a Makita cordless screw gun with batteries. Just looking for something to do general maintenance on the truck. Not sure what would do work best.

I have the high power dewalt 1/2” impact driver, Milwaukee m12 3/8” power wrench and m12 1/4” hex driver to do most things. What are you trying to do? Save your hands or a particular project?

old lug nuts removal (not for installing them), crankshaft and camshaft bolts removal and suspension work seem to go easier with the big gun but for most jobs the little guys work too. A lot of times is not the torque but how quickly the tool gets you to finish the job (high speed is better).

if you're not married to any particular platform, check walmart's hypertough line.

there's a disadvantage if you start using it semi-daily, and the batteries are proprietary, so they won't work with anything else, but for home stuff, you really can't beat the pricing or power offered.
