I have an 05 Toyota Tacoma TRD sport and I recently had to replace the ignition lock cylinder. Once the new cylinder was in, the truck would only turn over but not fully start. I put the old cylinder back in and it started. My truck does have an immobilizer so I'm not sure if any recoding is necessary but any suggestions are appreciated.

The new key needs to be programmed to the truck. You can use the old key to trick the immobilizer, then insert the new key and start it.
Place the old key next to the ignition and verify the blinking light goes out before inserting the new key
