    Hey Guys

Please help me. I disconnected the battery for more than a day and now my idle is crazy and is sitting on 500 rpm and the engine is shaking

I have been looking on youtube but I don't find any DIY for: 2nd Generation Tacoma 2.7 2TR-FE (My Car is a 2007)

    I really appreciate your help

    Thx & Rgds

Clean the throttle body, most likely its dirty and when you disconnected the battery the ECM "forgets" the idle compensation.

    Hi DM93,

So what I need to do in order that the computer relearn the idle compensation?

    Thx

It eventually will on its own but it would relearn faster if the throttle body was clean.

Another vote here for cleaning the TB and it might be a good idea to disconnect the battery for 5 minutes to reset it again after cleaning. Also, you’ve got me curious now, what type of vehicle is your 2TR-FE in?

    Hi,

My car is a Toyota Prado with the same 2.7 four cilinder engine that the Tacoma use.

Give this a try. Turn the key to run, but dont start the engine. Smoothly press the gas pedal all the way to the floor and smoothly let it all the way back up (up and down should take under 2 seconds) do that 3 times, turn the truck off and remove the key. Re insert key Then start.

Do I have to do this when the engine is up to regular temperature?

    Thx & Rgds

No. Can be done stone cold. What its doing is sweeping the throttle blade through its max range so the ECU knows the limits on either end thus potentially being able to figure out idle etc the best

    Hello Guys,

Well, my mechanic, reset the Electronic Throttle with his computer and now everything is OK. RPM are dead on 800 rpm at idle

    Thx & Rgds

This is most effective on a throttle body and plate that is clean
