I am looking to pick up a set of Icon hydro bumps and wanted to get opinions. Are they worth the cost? I don’t jump my truck, and mostly do light off-roading at best. What does everyone think??

    Don't!!!!

I'd highly recommend Durobumps, if you're looking to upgrade your bumpstops. Durobumps are A LOT softer than the factory bumpstops and provide a nice progressive dampening. Hydro bumps are designed for exactly the opposite of what you described. Going fast over whoops, jumping your truck, and generally slamming the truck frame onto the axels. They're great at what they do, but what I've heard from people that run them on their daily driver, is that they're annoying. The hydro bump will constantly "touch" the strike plate, resulting in "clicking" or "tapping" noises. It's not a bad thing, but just annoying. Not to mention, you're spending WAY more on them and permanently modifying the frame.

    Just my two cents...

Well, against the advice of the 2 ppl that responded I ordered the hydrobumps. I’ll see for myself how much I like or hate them. I’ll have super bumps in the front, and the Icon hydros in the rear.

Well, I really wanted them, and was hoping to get a lot more responses than 2. I've done a lot of google searches and people seem to love them. I was hoping to get some pro and some con responses and make a decision. But when you only get 2 responses, kinda makes it tough to get feedback and form an opinion

Each option works great for what they are. Personally I went hydro bumps because when wheeling, constantly driving over boulders and dropping ledges it kinda smoothened the back end for me. But in town, it could be annoying for someone as it sounds like metal on metal at times.

if your doing the install yourself, you may go to durabump when your ready to lose it trying to knock out the factory rivets

    All of them.
I have air bumps and love them. This is where they sit at ride height. Daily driving I almost never hit them so don't really know they are there. On the trail I don't see any real difference over superbumps other than superbumps limit up travel. But when I get heavy on the throttle in the dirt these thing are awesome!!!! Unreal difference

Absolutely get them . I'd say this was top 3 "mod" over all. Before them I almost broke my rear window bottoming out through woops and having wood smash up against it . Most entertaining to the people behind me. Even with the Icon shocks the rear end would buck badly through woops past 30mph. Front Mid travel no problem, but rear was absolute shit. Also, when I was hauling some red brick (700ish lbs) in the bed , it was fully bottomed out , resting on the icon bumps. The bumps helped act like a secondary shock and it didn't feel "bottomed out" on the road. I've hauled soil in my old ranger with deavers and Bilstein's , with only rubber bumps, and that was slow going over any bump in the road due to it being fully compressed. Poly bump/rubber/ or any other non hydro bump stop is "good enough" for certain speeds and bottom out situations. If it starts to get serious that will smash right up and feel just like stock. With enough wear and tear they will fail and need to be replaced as the material is toast. hydro bumps can be rebuilt, re-valved, shortened or nitrogen pressure adjusted.

Uh no. I almost never tap the strike pad on the road. If I do it's going to feel way more controlled and safe over a gnarly pot hole or intersection with deep drainage built into them compared to just rubber. Even if the truck never saw dirt I'd still run hydro bumps for hauling added weight and/or not breaking your back over speed bumps or pot holes.

This is something I've been considering too, I feel like I'm losing a lot of up travel with my Timbrens. I can feel the rear bumpstops offroad all the time but never the front. Especially in stuff like ruts or short whoops where you go down -> up -> down in a short time they feel quite harsh.

I’ll find out in a little bit. 3-4 more hours of work to be done on the truck before I test them out.

Looks great...can't wait to read your off-road review of them.

    Side note: What leaf springs?
