I Will Have to Pass

I was offered a 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport yesterday. Sticker is $57,562.00. I told the dealership that I will have to pass. The premium package is $8550. Toyota has just priced me out of ever buying another Tacoma. That is absolutely insane. I can get a nice full-size truck for that. Get ready for exorbitant prices. Geez….

 

So how did you get offered a price when they haven't released pricing yet?

Take away the $3,000 roof rack and you’re closer. I still feel over $52k is crazy. But an AT4 Canyon is $50-52. A Denali $54k.

 

Makes sense. Same shit as the sequoia and tundra. Both went up just about 20%.
After the initial fan boys die out in 6-9 months. The discounts will be on.

All dealer add on stuff. Looks like they have the MSRP and made their own pricing list to jack up the price. I'd say this is predatory and desperate.

It’s not the dealer it’s the distributor. Says PIO, if it’s on the window sticker it’s from Toyota/distributor.
If it’s on a vehicle addendum sticker it’s added at the dealership (window tint, Resistall, etc).

 

I was thinking it might be a long time before the 4th Gens sit on dealer lots so I can take a test drive. With pricing like this I may be test driving sooner than I think. I am very happy with my V6 Access Cab and will not pay anywhere near $57,562 for a Sport.

 

Whatever, it's all to gouge the customer to avoid MSRP sales. Is the dealer obligated to buy the distributors inventory? Spray on bed liner? cmon. Door edge guards? please. The OP seems to have taken this price as the price for all Sports when it isn't the case.

 

Has anyone just did a base SR build on a dealer site yet?

"Leather-trimmed seats with heated seats"? An 8" display with a premium package? It sounds like that spec sheet may have originated in Nigeria. If it came via an email I certainly wouldn't click any links in it.
