Snow is a wonderful thing. And if it snows when its 70 degrees out I'm really gonna start questioning the simulation programming.

 

We did it in March and it worked fine with appropriate clothing. Chilly in the shade. Next trip will probably be April.

Heading up to Whitehorse Ledge in about 3 weeks to spend a week trad-dadding for my buddy's 40th. Lookin forward to it.

I've climbed more at Cathedral then Whitehorse but I did sneak in a few routes there. The Last Unicorn was pretty damn good. Those slabs feel a little harder when it's warmer though.

 

I hail from NC friend. I was born in the slab. Molded by it.

 

One of the best in the country at the grade is there. Traditions at Whitesides. The bolts are typical NC spacing on pretty sustained climbing.

I do like a good, hard slab. You're in AZ now right? Cochise is so good. From the old classics like Absynth to the modern ones like Stampede. That place is my top 3 destinations for sure. I'll be there sometime in March for a week.

When I was in AZ I was up north. Lots of pitches at Paradise Forks, Oak Creek Overlook, Granite Mountain, and of course all the Sedona Crags.

Believe it or not, never got to the southern stuff, including Cochise. It remains on the to-do list.

Cochise is a must. My personal order of "best" slab areas is Toulumne Meadows, the Valley, Cochise, Whitesides, Cathedral.
