"Rules for thee but not for me" comes to mind a lot once you start delving into how the people that own the world operate.

My neighbor (the one who I steal his hot tub when he's out of town) has his band over practicing tonight. I showed up with my case full of harmonicas and we had a grand 'ole time lol. My keyboard and guitar are shit compared to them, but I knew I could rock the harmonica on the choruses. Pick a key, give me two bars to learn the rhythm of the song and I'm there all day long backing you up like it's bastardized country music.

I’m considering getting into some shares of BABA. I looked at the options for it and those are too rich for my blood. General consensus seems to be that it’s somewhat undervalued right now. Curious what y’all’s thoughts are on it.

Bezos has not cashed out. Offset any gains with losses and expenses. Grows the company by putting the money back into the company and innovation. Plants the seed stock. Resulting in growth. This is what is supposed to be happening.

Has it hit bottom yet? There's a lot of Chinese Government "manipulation" there to consider.

You are taking money out. That is what is getting taxed. Get paid by company stock. Make the stock appreciate.

I’ll happily pay my taxes. And if someone here wants to give me a salary of 2 billion a year and tax me 1 billion, I’ll take that gig :D

I don't mind paying taxes on things that benefit infrastructure, safety, etc. and what we use daily.

However, paying taxes on goods, property taxes, vehicle taxes (In KY you pay taxes on your vehicle every year you tag it depending on the value of the car. More expensive your car, the more yearly taxes you're paying on it over and and over.. Then when you sell it, they pay taxes on it.). You pay school taxes on your check for the county you work in even if that isn't your home county. On top of other really dumb taxes. That's theft by taxation, imo.

What I hate is capital gains.

Why do I have to give the government a cut of my earnings? Was it THEIR money they risked? No. It was my money that I risked.

In theory the government provides the infrastructure to allow those investments to take place.
