As long as the inlet/outlet are on the correct side, and are the correct diameter. The radiator should be fine, the built in trans cooler all have the same size lines.

Just make sure you get all the air out of the system.

    What's the procedure for that?
Just let the engine run and keep topping the radiator off?
    Thanks

I have a vacucum coolant fill system, but yeah keep filling and leave cap off. One of these funnels is also helpful

Somehow in forums TW they say the denso numbers on their online site are off..
so you cant trust their list....

    Here's what I got.....

    Denso® 221-3138 - Engine Coolant Radiator (carid.com)

It would seem the different sizes depend on AT or MT trannys because of the AT cooling sector is absent on the MT one...

edit.....looks like you can only get denso for autos now....and then ignore/plug tranny lines......

I had the 2.7L AT and this one fit perfectly....

Truth be known....if you have external trans fluid cooler like me and I bypassed radiator trans cooler all together (plugged it) you can probably use any of them....

Doesnt look like there is one....in beginning there may of been diff sizes, but years later everyone that sell a denso option just sells the ones for auto...
and tell u to not to use tranny lines....
You buy it by height and the 4x4s use the taller 3138 one..

.....thats the reason I reported numbers were little off, cause you cant buy manual denso one anymore.....

If you want one without tranny line cooler, u have to go off brand....

    Here's your choices....

    https://www.summitracing.com/search/part-type/radiators/make/toyota/model/tacoma/transmission/manual

Careful most denso's are back ordered for month or two, make sure have in stock before you pay for it....

And keep in mind......Denso seem to only have a 5 to 7 life.....then start leaking at the top crimp.......which is where the hot water enters.......

I went with an all-aluminum champion radiator, $250.....
.......but that one has special rules.....like u cant use red coolant.....and dont seem to do well on heavy off roading.....too stiff...has to be mounted so it will 'float' ....

Some of the overheating issues maybe related to that red coolant, not a fan of the red slime........it takes a dozen flushes to get it out....it just keeps coming.....thats not normal.....
Slimed coated heads, no corrosion taking place there.......glad I didnt think of that.....
After being in the engine for some time....Pull some out in a clear jug and let set in sun for a few days and see what happens.....

I guess if Toyota chopped off an inch of their own dick.....about half people here would do same......
