+1 on this. Just get a friend to help. The door is quite large and heavy.

Thanks for all the responses. I had already planned on speaking to my local Toyota collision center to see what solutions they could offer. Subsequently was going to talk to some body shops and see what they said. I figured I could just replace the shell but just not sure how easy it is to get that part.

I figured the experts on this board would offer some sage advice. Thanks!

Not that easy. And it will need to be painted. If going that route better to just have a good body shop repair his. Best bet is a clean used factory paint black door.

You could get it fixed and repainted for around $600-$700. Where do you live?

And replacement parts have to be painted to match. So if you buy a new door it’s gotta be painted anyway. Cheaper to get a good shop to repair and paint. My buddy owns a body shop I’m very OCD about my vehicles and I’ve had my share of repairs even though they weren’t my fault

used to be, contact 1 wrecking yard and they can pull up that part on other junk yards stock and tell you who has it, kinda like a wrecking yard intranet.

Even better, if the yard that has it isn't close by they can ship it to the yard he goes to. I expect that's computer based now unlike the old days.

Man that sucks, sorry it happened.

There are a few options I would look at.
    1. Personally I would buy an OEM door for $637 and have a body shop paint it for me. Since you truck is black and new, color match should be fine. I would transfer all the parts from my door to the new door and install myself. Need some body work skills and probable few other parts like black out tapes or seals.

    2. look for used, but LKQ prices are crazy high.

    3. have body shop quote repair door on truck or replace skin or shell and file insurance claim.

Just some thoughts. Sorry again. Or buy black duct tape to cover scratches and never walk to passenger side again.

That looks like you'll need to replace but if you don't, it's maybe $800 to repair. Counting it can be repaired the way I can think it can.

Replacing the door will likely be in the ballpark of $2k if using a body shop.

Not an apples to apples comparison, but I had a lady back into my lowered tailgate and dent the top edge. The body shop said it was not repairable and would have to be replaced. Quote from my local Toyota dealer body shop to replace with a new one, paint to match and swap out all the guts was just under $1,900.

I don't know body shop current prices for that, but a few years back it could be done for under $500 to pull dents on a vehicle like that. Its not a tough fix. Any body shop should be capable of that job.
